The resort is much bigger than I expected and there’s honestly plenty to keep you busy without having to go anywhere. The pools were great, especially the lazy river and the waterpark area. The kids spent most of their time there.
We also tried the cooking class, which was a nice little activity to do together, and the beach area was lovely for a quiet afternoon. There are quite a few restaurants around the resort too, so we had different options for breakfast and dinner during our stay.
One thing I really liked was that there were activities for adults as well, not just kids. I joined a Reformer Pilates session one morning and really enjoyed it.
The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly, and everything was quite convenient.

We had such a lovely stay at Grand Mirage! We came with the kids and honestly, there was so much for everyone to enjoy.
The food was definitely one of our favourite parts. We tried the buffet dinner, breakfast, and Bumbu Delhi, and everything was really good. There were so many options that even with the kids, it was easy to find something everyone liked.
What we really appreciated was how friendly and helpful the staff were. They were always smiling and happy to help, and it made us feel really comfortable during our stay.
We stayed in the New Premiere Garden room and really loved it. It’s modern, clean, and feels really fresh and comfortable. After a long day, it was so nice to come back to a clean and cosy room.
The kids also had an absolute blast here! There are lots of activities for both kids and adults. We were actually surprised to see they now have Pilates for adults too, which was a nice little bonus. The Junior Kidz Zone is free, and our kids got unlimited coins to play, so they were very happy 😂 We barely heard “I’m bored” the whole stay!
Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Grand Mirage. It felt like one of those holidays where the kids are entertained

We really wanted to love our stay at Grand Mirage Nusa Dua Bali, and we genuinely tried to make the most of it. The resort itself is beautiful, the grounds and gardens are lovely and there are some really nice areas around the property. Our room was fairly standard, but we had a lovely view over the pool and gardens.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few things that made our stay disappointing, and ultimately it just wasn’t the relaxing holiday we had hoped for.
The bed was extremely hard and very creaky, which made sleeping comfortably difficult. More concerning for us were some of the hygiene practices we witnessed. I personally saw a staff member pick utensils up from the ground, run them under the tap and then put them back into use on the breakfast buffet. We also saw our drinking glasses being washed using the bathroom tap. These things really concerned us, particularly because I subsequently became very unwell with what appeared to be bacterial Bali belly. We had only eaten at the resort during our stay, so naturally we were left questioning whether food or hygiene practices may have contributed.
The food was probably one of the biggest disappointments. There are several restaurants onsite, but we found the variety quite limited and, unfortunately, the quality and taste of many meals wasn’t what we expected. Meals often took a very long time to arrive and were sometimes only lukewarm or even cold by the time they reached the table.
Breakfast wasn’t much better. The buffet food was often cold, and the bacon on our visit was sitting in a lot of oil and appeared undercooked.
Once I became extremely unwell, communication became particularly difficult. The staff were friendly and did their best to help, but many spoke very little English. When you’re very sick and trying to explain that you need something as simple and plain as possible to eat, that language barrier becomes incredibly difficult and frustrating.
We also chose not to book the all inclusive option, and by the end of our stay we were actually glad we hadn’t. Service was generally very slow. Getting someone’s attention when we wanted a drink could be difficult, and clearing away old plates and drinks also seemed to take a long time.
I don’t want this review to suggest that nobody enjoys Grand Mirage, because clearly many people do. We saw plenty of guests having a great time, and we really wished we could have been one of them. We went into the holiday wanting to relax, enjoy the resort and have a wonderful time together.
Sadly, our experience just wasn’t that. We ended up cutting our holiday short as all I wanted was my own bed by the end and some food I could trust again.
The beautiful grounds and friendly staff were definitely positives, but the combination of the food quality, slow service, hygiene concerns and becoming very unwell meant that our overall experience was disappointing. For us, Grand Mirage, simply wasn’t the holiday experience we were hoping for, and unfortunately we wouldn’t choose to stay again.
