Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I’ve been staying here for two days and have had such a lovely experience so far.
Check-in was amazing. Krisna was incredibly welcoming, helpful and kind, and made me feel right at home. Justin who has only been in the job for a week, was also so kind, informative and eager to help.
The team has tried their hardest to accommodate my food allergies, which I really appreciate. It’s lovely to feel that the staff genuinely care about making your stay comfortable.

Have stayed here a few times a the service and friendly staff is always great and helpful. The only complaint is the pool lounges are being taken by people who don't use them for hours the staff did try and keep and eye on it but it needs to be reinforced more. Other than that we will definitely stay again in the future. It was our 36th wedding anniversary and they were fantastic.
Great location. 10 mins either direction to Garlic Lane and Legian, or Beachwalk Shopping & Kuta. Entrance is set well back from street so noise isn’t a problem
Overall hotel is great with fantastic staff.
Only downside is the lack of monitoring the reserving of pool lounges… towels are put into chairs at 7am yet people don’t actually use them for hours.
Staff need to be removing towels if not being used so all guests can enjoy the pool side access.

We had a fantastic stay at The Stones Hotel in Legian. Ms Sari and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay especially Maya at the pool bar what a legend. The hotel itself is beautiful, the pool area is excellent, breakfast offers a huge selection, and the location is very convenient for Legian Beach, restaurants, bars and shopping.
A few important heads-ups for anyone booking, though.
Definitely book a pool-view room if you can. In our opinion, it is well worth choosing over the rooms without a pool view.
Also request a room well away from the gym. Unfortunately, the gym weights seem to be too heavy for some of the gym junkies to put down normally! They were continually being dropped from the minute the gym opened, and the impact and vibration could be felt shuddering through the surrounding rooms. If you're a light sleeper or like a peaceful morning, being away from the gym would be high on our list of room requests.
The other thing we strongly recommend is contacting the hotel before booking to ask whether any large conventions or corporate groups are scheduled during your dates. There was a large convention during part of our stay and, for us, it had a significant negative impact on the atmosphere of the hotel. Some members of the group were quite demanding and, at times, rude towards the staff, which was disappointing to witness given how hard the staff worked.
The group's particular dietary catering requirements also resulted in strong cooking smells throughout the common areas at breakfast each morning. That's obviously a personal preference, but it noticeably changed the normally pleasant breakfast and lobby atmosphere for us. Had we known such a large convention was taking place, we would have chosen different dates.
None of this takes away from how good the hotel itself is or how excellent we found the staff. In fact, seeing how professionally and patiently they dealt with a very demanding period probably made us appreciate them even more.
Overall, we really enjoyed The Stones and will stay again — but next time we will book a pool-view room, request a room as far from the gym as possible, and check for large conventions before confirming our dates. With those boxes ticked, it will be an excellent place to stay again in Legian.
Stayed here whilst attending a course. Had a great time! Conference facilities were very nice. Special shout out to krisna at the front desk - very hospitable and pleasant to talk to!
