La Casa de la Playa

I’ll make this as short as possible to clarify some narratives I saw on TripAdvisor.

Service… This is the epitome of a 5 star resort. The level of personal service you receive from everyone, especially your concierges (shout out Memo and Francisco) is unmatched by any other resort we’ve gone to. Most resorts the concierge is kind of a fake unneeded luxury you pay extra for that doesn’t actually improve your stay. Here your concierges are what you dream that actually means. They handle literally everything for you with such grace and preparedness. And they reach out with ways to improve your stay you didn’t even think of.

The food… you will not think you’re at an all-inclusive resort here. We’ve been to arguably the best all-inclusive resorts including examples like Mousai in Puerto Vallarta, but nothing comes remotely close to the quality of food you get here. It’s better than even non-all-inclusive resorts like Ritz Carlton’s and Four Seasons we’ve stayed at. Ha and Xal were the biggest highlights. And FYI Ha does now offer a free wine-tasting with your food tasting menu which was awesome. I saw many reviews complaining they were charging for these wine tastings previously. Glad they changed that. But even the other restaurants are miles better than any other all-inclusive.

The exclusivity… you feel like a VIP staying here. Many times we ate lunch or dinner at the restaurants and we were literally the only people in the restaurant. Many times we’d be at the rooftop pool or on a beach bed near the ocean and we were the only people there. When it’s “busy” that means you’ll see maybe 3 or 4 other couples. It feels like the staff outnumbers the guest at least 3 to 1. This provides that unique special experience you don’t get at giant resorts.

The room… giant modern rooms with perfect ocean views. With the best welcome/turndown service/minibar/coffee amenities we’ve had in a room.

The experiences… we did the cenote dinner (one of the most unique dinner experiences you’ll see. Food was good too. Not Ha good obviously but still good. But you’re the there for the unique experience). We did the Xcaret backstage tour (this whole thing was maybe the most VIP experience you can have. You can read up on it for details, but maybe the coolest part is how at the end they whisk you away like you’re the president and within a couple minutes of the show ending you’re already riding away in your black suv back to the hotel). And we did the Xpeleo private tour (it’s early in the morning but worth it. It’s at Xplor park where you get a private tour of the underground water caves there before the park even opens. Super cool. And afterwards you can just stay at Xplor and knockout their activities in a couple hours before texting for your private ride back to the hotel). And we were going to do the special dinner in the beach one night but I got a little sick so we just ordered room service (also the best room service food we’ve had). TIP: book all these things as soon as you book your vacation by emailing the resort so you can get in contact with your concierges.

Unique cool things… what’s cooler than an entire wine cellar you have 24hr access too? Or a tequila/mezcal room, or a chocolate/treats room that’s open 24/7?

We’ll be coming back as soon as possible. We never go back to the same resort, but this place might have finally earned a permanent yearly spot on our vacation list.

My husband and I just returned from our annual Cancun vacation, and our stay exceeded every expectation. We work hard all year, so this trip is our chance to completely disconnect, slow down, and simply enjoy each other's company. If you're looking for a resort that's peaceful, romantic, and focused on exceptional service, this is it.

From the moment we landed, everything was seamless. The airport transfers were outstanding, with beautiful luxury vehicles and drivers who were professional, friendly, and accommodating. It was the perfect start to our vacation.

Some people look for nonstop entertainment and nightlife, but we were looking for the exact opposite. We wanted peace, quiet, and the soothing sound of the ocean—and that's exactly what we found. We never even left the resort because there was no reason to. Everything we needed was right there.

The service was truly exceptional. Our butler handled everything and responded almost immediately every time we reached out. Nothing ever felt like an inconvenience.

The in-room dining experience was one of our favorite parts of the trip. Being able to order directly from the TV was so convenient, and someone called us immediately afterward to confirm our order and ask if we'd like to add anything else. Our food was delivered promptly, still hot, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. One evening, our butler even set everything up so we could enjoy dinner in bed without having to lift a finger. Those little touches made our stay feel incredibly special.

The wait staff throughout the resort were amazing. They were attentive without being intrusive, learned our favorite food and drinks, and always greeted us with genuine warmth. Every interaction made us feel welcome and valued.

The food deserves its own recognition. Every meal was flavorful, fresh, beautifully plated, and thoughtfully prepared. The portions were perfect—not oversized, just satisfying—and we appreciated the healthy, high-quality options available throughout our stay.

We also loved the fitness center and used it every day. It was clean, well-equipped, and made it easy to maintain our routine while enjoying vacation.

This resort delivered exactly what we were hoping for: luxury, relaxation, privacy, romance, and impeccable service from beginning to end. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and already looking forward to returning next year.

We had a great honeymoon here. Facilities are very well taken care of. On demand private transportation was very nice to have; the mobility between all hotels and parks in the compound was convenient. We were able to text our butlers and always had fast response times. David & Alberto were our butlers—they catered to our every need.
