Bordered by a private white sand beach and lush tropical landscapes, this decadent luxury resort pulls out all the stops for an unreal holiday for families and couples alike. The resort is situated near Playa del Carmen on the Mayan Riviera, less than 50 kilometres from the pre-Colombian Mayan ruins of Tulum. Visitors will have many opportunities to explore the area with excursions to Tulum and Chichen-Itza archaeological sites, and can swim with dolphins or even tour the Hard Rock sister hotel in Cancun. Each room offers generous proportions, a hydro spa bathtub, private balcony, and a range of state-of-the-art amenities, all decorated with vibrant colours and textures. Guests will delight in the private beach, children's pool and family pool, and the resort also offers a sophisticated and opulent adults-only hotel with four pools, nine imaginative restaurants and six lavish bars exclusively for adults.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Hard rock hotel is really focused on the real rockers and music fans! We were able to enjoy on their best amenities they got which the Turntable and vinyls at your own room, Estrella form the lobby was very kind and helpful with us in order to be able to enjoy the “wax experience” with their great records collection. We listened these vinyls while we got in our room jacuzzi, like real rockstars!
We’ve visited Hard Rock Riviera Maya many, many times over the years, and this trip was easily one of our favorites!
We’ve been Legendary members for 10 years, but this was the first time we brought three other couples with us—a group of eight. We were also celebrating two milestone birthdays, so this was an extra-special trip for us. From beginning to end, the staff made it incredibly memorable.
This was our first trip with our new butlers, Gabriel and Emmanuel, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! They were professional, attentive, incredibly communicative, and always seemed to be one step ahead. Most importantly, they made every person in our group feel special. With eight people, four rooms, and two birthday celebrations, that’s no small task!
We were also so happy to see David back at the Eden Pool and to have him as our server each day. Not only did he immediately remember us by name, he even remembered the names of one of the couples traveling with us who had visited two years ago! That says so much about the level of service at HRRM. David took wonderful care of us all week. On his day off, Ari stepped in and was every bit as attentive and friendly. Jazzi at the pool for water aerobics, blackjack (so fun) and macrame bracelet making was also fun!
All four of our rooms were on the adults-only side in Building 2. Building 1 is currently being renovated, but the construction was no bother to us at all.
We also became regulars at the Heaven Bar, where Dago, Mukul, and Alyssa/Allison were amazing. By the middle of the week, they knew all eight of us by name and remembered what we drank. That kind of personal attention is one of the reasons we continue coming back to Hard Rock Riviera Maya.
The entertainment deserves a special mention because it was actually one of the reasons we chose HRRM for this trip with our friends! We knew we wanted everyone to experience the entertainment we’ve enjoyed on our previous visits, and it did not disappoint. Our butlers reserved our seats for both the Rock Show and Queen, which made those nights even more enjoyable for our group. We were also pleasantly surprised to see the Silent Party (aka Silent Disco) added to the Heaven patio. That was such a fun addition and another great night for all of us!
Our birthday celebrations were especially memorable because it wasn’t just our butlers who went out of their way to make them special. David at Eden Pool, Dago at Heaven Bar, and the teams at the restaurants where we celebrated our special nights all made us feel celebrated.
And I can’t forget the food—it was incredible! We had so many great meals throughout the week and were genuinely impressed.
What stands out most about HRRM is the people. Everyone is incredibly friendly and professional, and they have a way of making you feel genuinely welcomed and special. After many visits, that’s what keeps us coming back.
This trip was fun, relaxing, memorable, and truly one of our favorites. A huge thank you to Gabriel, Emmanuel, David, Ari, Dago, Mukul, Alyssa/Allison, and everyone else who made our vacation and birthday celebrations so special.

Fabulous resort 10/10. Butlers Nacho, Bernie, Vincent, Irmin were fabulous. Marty at Eden pool was excellent. Niko at Umo and Eduardo at Toro excellent waiters. Private dinner with Erik and Gill were excellent waiters.
This was our second time returning to the Hard Rock Riveria Maya in 9 months, and we’d return again in a heartbeat! Carlos at the Eden pool is the best, remembering us from our previous visit, and our drinks order!! The food at this resort is incredible and every member of staff could not do enough for us! On our last day, the staff at the Faro restaurant gave us a special dessert & drink to thank us for visiting! We’ll definitely be returning!
5* experience. Shout out to our amazing butlers Omar and Paola. Nothing was too much trouble for them very welcoming. The food was excellent. Room was beautiful bed was super comfortable. Faro restaurant staff Marisol Maria Keila Sol & Alfredo also made welcome. Heaven bar Jesus Manuel Jullian Alison and all the crew for keeping the drinks flowing. Wai & Umo great additiions since our last visit. Zen and Raul for finding us a table for a là carte menu. Frida excellent food & staff. Vaila for drinks at legendary pool.
