- Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya

Bordered by a private white sand beach and lush tropical landscapes, this decadent luxury resort pulls out all the stops for an unreal holiday for families and couples alike. The resort is situated near Playa del Carmen on the Mayan Riviera, less than 50 kilometres from the pre-Colombian Mayan ruins of Tulum. Visitors will have many opportunities to explore the area with excursions to Tulum and Chichen-Itza archaeological sites, and can swim with dolphins or even tour the Hard Rock sister hotel in Cancun. Each room offers generous proportions, a hydro spa bathtub, private balcony, and a range of state-of-the-art amenities, all decorated with vibrant colours and textures. Guests will delight in the private beach, children's pool and family pool, and the resort also offers a sophisticated and opulent adults-only hotel with four pools, nine imaginative restaurants and six lavish bars exclusively for adults.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We had an amazing experience at the hotel! The pool area was one of the highlights of our stay, and the service was outstanding. A special thank you to Cecilia, Marcos, José, and Josafat from the pool team. They were always friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Their professionalism and warm attitude truly made us feel welcome and helped make our vacation even more enjoyable. Thank you all for the exceptional service we can’t wait to come back!
We had a fabulous time. Concierge service was grate!
Food was delicious. Ask for Kevin and David, they were our waitstaff and provided excellent service and made us feel like family
Our family recently spent a week at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, and we had an amazing vacation.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. The service throughout the resort was consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained, and exceptionally clean.
The highlight for our family was the calm lagoon beach. It was perfect for children, and we enjoyed swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and simply relaxing by the water. The pools and water slides kept our kids entertained for hours, and there was always something happening around the resort.
The food exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoyed Toro Steakhouse, Frida, Zen Teppanyaki, and the breakfast buffet at The Market. There was plenty of variety, and we never had trouble finding something everyone enjoyed.
During our stay, we also explored Tulum, Cenote Azul, Akumal, and spent a full day at Xcaret, all of which were easy to access from the resort.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to provide more information about the daily activities and resort events during check-in. We discovered several great activities only after exploring the resort ourselves.
Overall, Hard Rock Riviera Maya provided everything we were looking for: excellent service, beautiful surroundings, great food, fun activities for the kids, and a relaxing atmosphere for adults. It was one of our best family vacations, and we would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Riviera Maya.
Just arrived and booked what we hoped would be a luxury room for 2 adults and child to find we only have one king size bed! Reception said nothing they can do for tonight as no other rooms but we’ve been waiting over an hour since check in having gone back to reception and called to chase up to resolve. Given we’re 6 hours ahead it’s now 3am home time and my children and I are shattered having set off in the UK at 9am this morning! This is the most expensive holiday we have had and was a treat as the eldest leaves home after this summer so we are beyond disappointed. We will see what happens tomorrow but it means we can’t unpack and settle which is a real shame given the distance and cost for this extra special trip.
