Where do I start? We’ve just returned from our second stay at Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, and once again, we’ve come home with some fantastic memories. We first visited in 2022, and when we were deciding where to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, coming back here felt like the obvious choice. We already knew what to expect, but this holiday felt even more special because of the occasion. The resort itself is huge and surrounded by beautiful tropical grounds. There’s so much greenery, wildlife and space to explore, and we loved simply wandering around and taking everything in. The pools offer different atmospheres depending on whether you want to join in with activities or just relax, while the beach and Caribbean Sea provide the perfect backdrop for a holiday in Mexico. 🌴 The animation team One of the biggest highlights of this trip was definitely the animation team. A special mention has to go to Jesus, Cecilio and Kyristian, who brought so much fun and personality to our days. Cecilio, we really enjoyed the archery and appreciated you teaching us how to do it. Being able to take part in the airgun shooting was another great experience and something we wouldn't normally get the opportunity to do. Then there was the pool volleyball with Jesus and Kyristian — probably some of the funniest moments of the holiday! 😂 There was plenty of competition, plenty of laughing and, of course, the never-ending VAR discussions over whether the ball was actually in or out. We're still convinced some of those decisions need investigating! 😂 And Jesus, we're still sorry about popping the football! ⚽😂 The animation team made it very easy to get involved without ever making anyone feel pressured, and their energy really added to the atmosphere around the resort. ❤️ Kids Club – a special thank you We really don't want to finish this review without giving a very special mention to the Kids Club team, because what you do deserves so much recognition. As parents, one of the hardest things about a family holiday can be finding that balance between spending precious time together as a family and getting a little bit of time to yourselves. The Kids Club gave us exactly that. What stood out to us was how much genuine effort the team put into keeping the children happy, entertained and involved. They didn't just occupy the children — they created a place where they could have fun, make friends, try different activities and create their own holiday memories. For us, being able to leave our daughter with the Kids Club and genuinely feel comfortable and confident that she was having a great time was incredibly important. It meant we could take a little time for ourselves, sit by the pool, have a drink together or simply enjoy some quiet time — something that, as parents, you sometimes don't realise how much you need until you get it. 😂❤️ But perhaps the nicest part was seeing how happy our daughter was when coming back from the Kids Club. That tells you everything. To the whole Kids Club team — thank you. Thank you for your patience, your energy, your kindness and for putting so much effort into making every day enjoyable for the children. You work incredibly hard, and although you might not always realise it, you make a huge difference to the families staying at this resort. You gave us something that money can't really put a value on — the chance to relax knowing our daughter was happy, safe and having fun. You were an important part of our holiday, and we're genuinely grateful for that. ❤️ 🍹 Marcial – simply the best! We also have to give a massive special mention to Marcial, who, in our opinion, is the best waiter at the resort. From the moment we saw him again, he was exactly as welcoming, friendly and attentive as we remembered. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Marcial, and he has such a brilliant way of making everyone feel looked after. What made it even more special this time was that he remembered our daughter from our first visit back in 2022. The fact that he recognised her after all those years genuinely meant a lot to us. ❤️ Marcial also has a fantastic way with children. He makes a real fuss of them, talks to them, makes them laugh and always seems to have time for them. It's those little personal touches that make someone stand out. And then there are the famous one-liners! 😂 “Cheers mate!” “Cheers pal!” “Bloody Nora!” We honestly couldn't hear those phrases without smiling. 😂 Marcial, you made us feel welcome all over again and were a big part of making this holiday feel like coming back to see old friends rather than simply returning to a resort. 🙏 Pablo – Concierge We also want to give a special mention to Pablo, the concierge. Pablo, thank you for the kind gesture you made for us before we said goodbye for now. It was incredibly thoughtful and genuinely meant a lot to us. It's moments like that that remind you that hospitality is about so much more than the facilities or the hotel itself. It's the people you meet and the little personal touches that stay with you once you're home. Thank you, Pablo. It was a lovely way to end our stay, and we really appreciated it. ❤️ 🎭 Evening entertainment The night-time shows were another real highlight. The performances were excellent, and you could see the amount of effort that went into putting them together. Everyone involved — both those performing and those working behind the scenes — did an incredible job. After dinner, it was genuinely something we looked forward to, and the shows gave the evenings a great atmosphere. 🍽️ Food & restaurants We enjoyed the variety of food throughout the stay, with plenty of options to choose from. The à la carte restaurants were particularly enjoyable, especially during our anniversary. Getting dressed up, sitting down together and enjoying an evening meal was a lovely part of the holiday. ❤️ Our anniversary Celebrating 10 years of marriage in Mexico made this trip particularly memorable. Some of our favourite memories weren't necessarily the big moments — they were the simple things: sitting by the pool, relaxing on the beach, having a drink together, laughing during the activities and enjoying the evening shows. Those are the moments we'll take home with us. 🏨 A few improvements Like any large resort, there are areas that could benefit from some updating, particularly in parts of the accommodation. However, these things didn't stop us from having a brilliant holiday. For us, the overall experience is about much more than whether everything is perfect. 🇲🇽 Would we return? Yes, absolutely. The fact that this was our second visit — and that we chose Grand Sirenis for such an important occasion — probably says everything. The resort has beautiful surroundings, plenty to do, good food, great entertainment and, most importantly, some genuinely friendly and memorable staff. Everyone connected with the Grand Sirenis chain should be proud of the people working here. The friendliness and effort from the staff, particularly the animation, entertainment, Kids Club, concierge and restaurant teams, made a real difference to our experience. And to Jesus, Cecilio, Kyristian, Marcial, Pablo and everyone else who made our stay special — you have all played a part in giving us memories we'll be taking home with us. 10 years married, two trips to Grand Sirenis, and hopefully not our last. ❤️ Until next time, Mexico. 🇲🇽🌴☀️
