A quick trip to paradise
We had a great few days here. The resort is basically 2 in 1. the secrets side is more chill and relaxing, and the breathless side is more of a party. We spent most of our time on the secrets side and it was awesome. The main pool on the breathless side was under construction, but it really didn’t take anything away from how cool the rest of the resort was. Great food options for dinner, and the nook cafe has ice cream all day. Soo glad we found that out early on since it was pretty hot.
Not the anniversary experience we were hoping for
We stayed August 22–29, 2026 to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We’re longtime fans of Excellence Resorts and decided to try Secrets for this special occasion. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations.
The positives:
- Staff were consistently friendly and courteous.
- Food was okay overall, although not particularly memorable.
- Evening shows were entertaining.
- Turndown service was reliable.
The negatives:
- No welcome drinks or cold towels upon arrival.
- We emailed the resort twice ahead of our stay about our 20th anniversary, but there was no note, banner, or special amenity in the room.
- Our in-room jacuzzi broke twice during the stay.
- We were told we had reservations for the hibachi restaurant, only to find out the restaurant was closed.
- The main pool at Breathless was closed during our stay, so Breathless guests were given access to the Secrets pool, which made it busier.
- We received daily phone calls around 9:00 AM offering timeshare presentations. These calls woke us up repeatedly.
- Construction noise was noticeable during our stay.
- The minibar was not regularly restocked.
- There was no bottled water provided in the room; instead, guests are expected to refill bottles at outdoor water stations.
- The beach was not really swimmable.
Overall: We really wanted to love this resort, especially since it was our 20th anniversary trip, but there were too many small issues that added up and affected the overall experience. We’ve heard from others that this resort is not a true Secrets property and that we should try other stand alone Secrets property. We may consider that in the future, but for now, we’ll probably stick with the Excellence Resorts we know and have enjoyed in the past.

The Perfect Getaway at Secrets Resort & Spa
Our stay at Secrets Resort & Spa from August 20th through August 24th was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hospitality, service, and beautiful atmosphere.
The food was excellent, and the beverages were wonderful. Everything we needed was readily available, and the staff was courteous, welcoming, and attentive throughout our entire stay. We truly felt taken care of.
Our room was peaceful, comfortable, and relaxing, which made it easy to unwind and enjoy our vacation. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a fun trip with friends and family, or simply a peaceful place to relax and recharge, Secrets Resort & Spa offers an experience that can accommodate it all.
Our entire group had an incredible time, and we left with wonderful memories. The combination of great food, excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and the overall peaceful atmosphere made our stay truly special.
We would absolutely recommend Secrets Resort & Spa and would love to return in the future. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end!

Honeymoon
Went for my honeymoon and we had a great time. Food was good, drinks were strong in the preferred areas. I would go back again.
