August 26 Holiday and wedding review
We stayed here in August and also got married here. We had 40 guests also staying at the hotel.
Paid for Diamond club, swim out room. Our butlers Iran and Brenda were wonderful. Happy to help with anything and we’re especially useful when we needed things for our 2 year old daughter e.g. milk.
Hotel transfer is around 20/25 mins from airport. Hotel driveway is 5km so is a long way from the main road.
Beautiful hotel and grounds. Well kept and clean. Cats, kittens, raccoons and lizards about. Our friends saw turtles on the beach at night!
Seaweed is an unavoidable factor of the location. Not the hotels fault at all. Don’t stay here if you want a beach experience.
Buffet had lots of choice and was well deigned. For my personal preference, it was hit and miss; some nights great, some nights uninspiring.
Room service was excellent! Available 24 hours and a lifesaver at times: pizza, lasagna, burgers all great.
All happy with the drinks. Diamond club you get a bottle of spirit for the room. You choose from a list of branded bottles, we chose Tanqueray gin.
Pools are great. Loads of seating. Lazy river was excellent! Wedding guests loved the slides. Pool Towels available daily from poolside. Take LOTS pf suncream and a hat- you will burn!
Only a few people from our party had bad tummy’s. But it seems these people were eating salads, fish etc. Arguably more risky foods.
All ice in drinks is safe as it’s brought in to the hotel in readymade bags.
Diamond club, you get a 1 hour hydrotherapy experience in the spa for free. Well worth doing!
Guests said the gym was great.
Wedding: bought the Refined package through TUI. Sky terrace. All good. Everything I asked for was done. We paid for minimal extras to keep the cost low and brought decor from home in suitcases, which was all set up with the hotel coordinator and bridal party at no extra cost. Top tip: get the fairy lights! They look so much better at night.
Cons: overall food wasn’t 5*; good but not great. Also, food vans weren’t always open when they were supposed to be either which was annoying.

This was my fourth stay at this resort and it just keeps getting better!!!! Our Butler's Arturo and Edgar were awesome, they made sure that they responded to every message and made sure we had what we needed. We definitely be visiting again!!!!!

MARRIOTT BONVOY MEMBERS BEWARE
I never write reviews like this, but we had a terrible experience here that I think others should know about before booking. I’ve been Titanium Elite for years. This was our kids’ first international trip, and I spent hours researching resorts and doing everything I could beforehand to make sure there were no surprises.
Sparing you all the details—Royalton charged us roughly double what we booked, told us our Bonvoy points would be returned, then kept nearly 500,000 points anyway. I was also denied my Titanium upgrade and had to pay for an upgrade to keep our family together. They later claimed I had turned down the free upgrade. I did not.
I sent Marriott and Royalton the confirmations, receipts, screenshots and correspondence and escalated it all the way to Marriott Corporate. They still backed the resort.
The whole experience felt like bait and switch.
I will never book Royalton again.

Fantastic hotel
What a wonderful hotel! We stayed here for 10 days, a party of 6. Rooms were large, spacious and extremely clean. The food in the buffet is plentiful and varied and there are numerous other restaurants to eat in in the evening. Just make sure to book in advance. There are plenty of pools including a swim up pool and a lazy river and there are water slides for the children. Evening entertainment is also excellent. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
