We recently stayed at Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun and had a wonderful experience. We booked Diamond Club Swim-Out Rooms, and the upgrade, especially the butler service, was definitely worth it.
The resort and rooms were clean, and the housekeeping staff did a great job maintaining everything throughout our stay.
A special thank you to our butlers, Pablo and Milton, who took great care of us and were always helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Luis at the main bar made amazing drinks, and Anthony at the Diamond Club Bar provided excellent service.
Overall, the staff throughout the resort were hardworking, friendly, and did their best to ensure guests had a pleasant stay.
We also enjoyed most of the à la carte restaurants, and the food and service were generally good. Our only disappointment was Taj, where we found the Indian food to be just okay and not as impressive as the other dining options.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend the Diamond Club experience for the added service and convenience. Thank you to everyone who helped make our vacation enjoyable!
Excellent attention and really good show by our chef Arturo, really nice experience. Extremely recommended!
We went here for vacation late August and it was great! The food was awesome, staff was amazing, room service was great and the bars were 10/10. During our stay we came across some staff that made our stay really memorable.
Our favorite staff member was Pedro, who works at the pool side bar is an absolute amazing guy. He always gives you the best service, makes the drinks quick and does quick and friendly service. If you go to this resort I defenitly recommend going the the poolside bar and saying hi to Pedro. Next person is Ricardo and Roberto. These 2 guys are also really great. They work in the sports pub called score. Quick and friendly service talks to you when they have the time and are absolutly amazing. Our favorite resturant was The Hunter Steak House where Jordan was our waiter. Service there is 10/10, the atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. Jordan is a awesome waiter and made our stay memorable. Next person is Beatrice who works at the pool bar and comes to your chair and asks if you need drinks. She is an amazing and veryt hard working server and always gets your drinks really quick. 10/10 service. All staff are always smiling, super friendly and always ask if you need anything. If you go there please make sure to tip!
Here are names of all of the staff we met and made our stay great. Pedro, Daniel, Marco, Ricardo, Roberto, Jordan, Beatrice, and Julio.
In the night there are always different events on different days. One night there was a silent DJ disco party and the next night "Michael Jackson" performed. There was also a fiesta on our last night where street vendors came in and sold souvenirs for a great price. The pool was great, water was really nice and warm, rooms were always clean food was excellent. We will definetly be visiting next year. This resort had lots of things to offer, great hospitality, very hard working staff and more. The location was great as it was less then 20 minutes north of the Cancun airport. If your looking for a fun, all inclusive resort to stay with your family definitely pick this one.
We stayed at this resort for 7 days and we had a blast . If you are going to pick this hotel spend the extra for the diamond clubMost people we spoke to that were not in the diamond area were a bit disappointed with the service . At the diamond area , everyone was pleased and had a great time . We got two butlers Eliu and Eduardo. They were kind and very helpful. Checked in on us every morning and night through text or a visit . We were very easy going and only needed them a few times . They also helped booked our dinner reservations . Food was great ! There was never a shortage of food. When the buffet was closed there were fries and burger truck , the nibbles, ice cream shop and a pizza section
Beach was open, however there was still a lot of sea grass. Lazy river was amazing! Bring your own tube floats as the hotel ones are limited . This way you can go as many times as you want. Diamond had its own pools and a small lazy river and premium drinks . Overall this hotel was amazing and I would give it a 10/10
My husband, two sons (ages 13 and 10), and I stayed at the Royalton from August 14 through August 21. Overall, we had a good vacation, but there were several areas where the resort fell short of expectations, especially considering it is less than four years old.
One of the first things we noticed was the amount of wear and tear throughout the property. For such a new resort, there were visible signs of aging in several areas. The resort has more than 1,000 rooms, and although it was nowhere near full capacity during our stay, service was inconsistent at times. We also experienced shortages of certain food items, particularly at the ice cream shop, which was a popular destination for families and often ran out of selections fairly quickly.
The resort offers multiple dining venues, which is a plus, but after a week-long stay, the restaurant options began to feel somewhat repetitive. As Royalton Club guests, we appreciated the added perks, including access to the Club lounge with its dedicated bar and mini buffet, both of which were consistently well stocked. However, despite our upgraded status, securing dinner reservations before 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. proved nearly impossible.
That said, the food quality was generally good. Our favorite restaurants were Gourmet Marché (Buffet), Rio, and Grazie. A special mention goes to Mardo, who served us at both Rio and Grazie. He was by far the most attentive, energetic, and personable team member we encountered during our stay. His service was exceptional, and he consistently went above and beyond to make our dining experiences enjoyable.
The water park offers attractions for both younger children and older kids, which is great for families. However, after a few days, it became somewhat repetitive, especially for older children looking for more variety.
We stayed in a Junior Suite Swim-Out with One King Bed and Sofa Bed. The king bed was comfortable, but the sofa bed was disappointing. Rather than a traditional elevated pull-out sofa bed, it functioned more like a low trundle bed and was not particularly comfortable. My sons made the best of it, but I was surprised to find that type and quality of sofa bed in a relatively new resort. The room itself also felt smaller than what we've experienced at other family-oriented resorts.
Another surprising aspect was the room service policy. Unlike many all-inclusive resorts we've visited, Royalton only delivers non-alcoholic beverages through room service. Aside from the welcome beverages we received upon arrival (a bottle of sparkling wine and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon) and the daily minibar restocking, which included several beer options, any additional alcoholic drinks required a trip to the bar. Additionally, once the in-room snacks were consumed, they were not replenished. Guests who wanted more snacks had to purchase them separately. Having stayed at numerous all-inclusive resorts, this was a first for us and felt out of step with the all-inclusive experience.
Overall, the Royalton has several strengths, including good dining options, family-friendly amenities, and some outstanding staff members. However, the visible wear and tear, inconsistent service, limited reservation availability, room accommodations, and unexpected restrictions on room service and snacks kept the experience from fully meeting our expectations.
