Excellence is the word that describes this magnificent adults only resort, situated right on a lovely beach of the Mexican's coast, between the vibrant city of Cancun and the beautiful Playa del Carmen. Cancun International Airport is only a 20-minute drive away and the staff of the hotel might help guests to arrange transport service. All the accommodation units offer a little world of luxury featuring top-notch amenities to provide an unforgettable stay in Riviera Maya. The establishment boasts an incredible range of dining and wining options, offering exquisite international cuisine in different types of ambiances. Guests can enjoy many activities and leisure options, such as volleyball or tennis, and spend relaxing moments in the exclusive wellness area or at one of the many swimming pools available in the resort. Those who choose to stay in this accommodation will live a unique holiday experience.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Third visit to this hotel (2012,2019,2026). Great transfer with Four Seasons,lovely welcome from staff. We paid for Excellence Club, building 7. Overall,we had a great holiday despite the seaweed smell which was overwhelming on some days, but is a problem that the hotel couldnt do much about.Staff were attentive and always checked up with us if we raised any issues, which was greatly appreciated. Club pool service was great, as was housekeeping and restaurant service. Sometimes it took a while for coffee to be offered at breakfast, and a particular problem was waiting for a waiter to bring you milk for cereals each time. It would be nice if you could help yourself, as it slowed breakfast down every day for us,as we liked to begin with cerals, before moving on to hot food. Management staff were also great, especially the Guest Services manager and the Magna Club manager. The Magna restaurant itself was wonderful, and a credit to the hotel, food quality superb. Staff in Aroma were also fantastic, service wonderful. We had room service once and that was also excellent. We did think the cost for choosing our room to be very expensive, if we came again, we would just take our chance..Nevertheless, it was great to come back to this lovely hotel for 10 days and the weather was perfect.
I just wanted to update my previous review which I wrote yesterday,as I missed something out which really mattered to us. Thank you for adding a buffet selection to the Kitchen Table at lunchtime. Since Covid,we have really missed the lunchtime buffet in the Excellence resorts. We went to EPM last year and there was no buffet option at lunchtime, but our recent visit to ERC delighted us when we went to the restaurant for lunch. You can still order from the menu, but it is so nice to be able to help yourself to soup, salad, meats,cheese,desserts,ice cream and fruits etc if you dont want a large meal. It was never very busy,but I hope more people use this facility so it doesnt disappear. Thank you so much for introducing this, we really appreciated it.
This was our 2nd experience with this resort, and we will return for a 3rd. Staff, food, entertainment and grounds were beyond great! We have visited all of the excellence resorts and will continue to do so.

I spent 7 days at this idyllic resort, and it was an amazing experience that I will cherish. From the calming sea breeze constantly gracing the resort to the clean, pristine seashore that is constantly being maintained by the staff, it was an ideal experience of the Caribbean coast. The piers were a great place to hang out and watch the ocean. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe and included here at this resort. Booking my pickup and drop-off to/from the airport in advance was a real benefit. The food was amazing (Basmati and Chez Isabelle standing out to me), and the cocktails were some of the most delicious I have had (Martini bar being my favourite). The resort is full of unique flowers and trees native to Mexico, and some adorable animals that make an appearance; that, to me, was such a highlight! The pools are nice, with many areas to choose from, whether you would like to socialise or just hang out on your own. An unexpected plus for me was the state-of-the-art Functional Fitness Center, which I really enjoyed using throughout my stay as a fitness enthusiast. My room had an oceanfront view that was simply a dream to wake up to and watch the sunrise. It was kept very clean with a constantly stocked minibar. They hosted unique events that made the stay even more memorable: paint nights, dancing, and karaoke, just to name a few. I would like to give a special shout-out to Xochitl and Kaleb, who went the extra mile, had such uplifting attitudes, and made every event so memorable for me :) While the location is amazing, it is the people and culture here that made my stay so special and unforgettable. I happened to visit during Mexican Independence Day, and the staff held an amazing celebration with memorable performances, with the Mayan dance/celebration being my favourite. The resort has amazing live performers almost every night; be sure not to miss Claudia's performance on Mondays! Overall, I could not have asked for a better experience and it definitely exceeded my expectations! Enjoy everything the resort has to offer, and don't miss the unique sunsets!
