We stayed has a family of 3 for 7 nights. Room was a good size with separate toilet, shower and sinks which was great for getting ready. View in our room wasnt great, we had a superior room which had a view of the works been carried out at the hotel next door. Hotel grounds are beautiful, and well looked after. Pool area nice, always plenty of beds and was clean however the temperature of the pool is hot! You cannot get in expecting to cool down. Sea...we had 5 lucky days with very little sargussum but 2 of a large amount which the hotel couldn't remove quick enough, doesn't stop you from getting in the sea which is lovely and warm. Lots of free water sports to do also. Food.....I would say is average, breakfast okay, plenty of options. Lunch again average in the buffet, snack bar the pool was better, burgers, pizzas, salads etc. Dinner was same most evenings, same meats and salad etc, nothing amazing to eat. We managed to book at the Mexican and Mediterranean restaurants which were both really good. Weather...late 30s all week, red hot and very humid. Overall a good week, staff work hard and hotel is lovely, just lacks on the food.
Just returned after an amazing stay at Viva Maya. We had a great time. The rooms were clean, bed super comfy and air con was great. The food was good in the main buffet. We also tried two restaurants- Portafino which was amazing and The Mexican restaurant which was good too. Check in was easy. All of the staff on the report were friendly and helpful. The entertainment team are amazing and run things all day. Theres always something to do. The pool was good and we didn't find it to busy. The beach sand was lovely. The only downside was the Sargassum which is a Mexico wide issue, it's thick and stinks. Turtles laid eggs on the beach which was exciting. There is lots of wildlife around the hotel which was so lovely to see too.
Everyone is very welcoming! Big shout out to Nicholas, Elio, Uciel, and Erick for making our dinner feel luxurious and fun. Thank you for a great time.
Service was excellent, waiters and servers were so nice! The team composed of —Elio, Ucial, Erik, Nicolas— were so gracious and welcoming. I ordered the tuna steak and I must say I think it is the best thing on the menu. A must try if you make a reservation at the Cosmopolitan!
From the moment we arrived at the host table, we were greeted with such warmth and enthusiasm by Nicholas. The dinner team consisting of Elio, Uciel, and Erick were taking such care of us and made us feel at home with their jokes and smiles. The food was impeccable, every option that we got from the entree to the dessert was a treat. For entrees we got the salad and the hummus which were so delicious and did the job for opening up our appetite. The mains were the tuna steak, the beef steak, and the shrimp were all exactly what the theme is: a fusion of flavours that was very special. Dessert was a nice wrap to the entire night. This wasn’t just dinner it was an experience. :)
