Food and Service were amazing!
Luis was our waiter and he was wonderful, very attentive and adequate sure we had an amazing visit ! Food was great, service was great, happy we got to experience the Mayan restaurant vibes. Highly recommend !
We visited for two weeks and had an amazing stay! The hotel is spotless throughout - from reception, to restaurants, to pool area, to beach, and especially rooms! The cleaning team impressed us every day with how immaculate they left our room and our son loved all the funny towel animals they created! Although we visited during peak sargassum season, the team worked tirelessly to try beat it. I’m an early bird so my mornings were spent with a book and a coffee (from the incredible 24hr pool bar) on the beach with the sun rise, and the guys were out there from the crack of dawn clearing our section of beach so that the guests could enjoy it as best they could. The entertainment was welcome too, engaging and interactive without being too much or in your face if you weren’t participating - although I defied anyone to not join in on the pool foam party that took place when we were there! It was brilliant for both our 9yr old and for us. The food is lovely, there’s something for everyone at the buffet restaurant, but there were a couple of nights when we just fancied a chilled night after long days exploring so ate at the snack bar instead - their burgers and pizzas are delicious. The à la carte restaurants were stunning too, especially the Italian. Overall a fantastic stay in a hotel that goes out of its way to provide the best guest experience!
Just come back from a two week family holiday. We chose this resort as visited last year and we found it outstanding with no complaints, however, this year upon arrival no welcome drink. Room, resort, beach was pristine, even with sargassum season they did there utmost to clear it daily. We found compared to last year that this years breakfast and lunch staff we not so friendly and hardly any smiles, but evening was a totally different scene with staff going above and beyond, especially Gabrielle and Neyali who really made our stay so special, these guys deserve a pay rise. We also found that the daytime entertainment staff seemed to avoid English so much to the point when handing out glow sticks totally bypassed out table with our daughter and also two other English tables, this I found extremely rude and disrespectful as why should we have been left out !!!! Food was great no complaints, Bamboo the Japanese is a totally different scene must to dine at. If you want to go on any excursions find Poncho on the beach who works for Premium Travel and book Sian Kaan, this trip is out of this world and Poncho is more than helpful. The pool needs to be bigger or another one built as this year it was full of people on floaties, people playing ball games across the pool and then also sadly some couples using it as a “togetherness” area !!!!! Sadly after our experience this year we would not visit this resort again and would not recommend to others unless staff attitude changes.
Pros : Lovely holiday. Staff friendly and hard working. Rooms and communal areas spotless. Drinks good quality, make the cocktails with actual fruit. Plenty of choice in restaurants and served hot. Great position on the beach. Loads of sun loungers always available on the beach. Pool towels included. Can use the sister hotel at the Maya. Pool party is brilliant fun. Short walk to a parade of shops. Cons : no aircon in the main restaurant. Black iron chairs in the restaurant and courtyard can leave black marks on your clothes. Pool turns lighter swimwear lime green. Loads of clothes ruined. Bring dark swimwear if you want to wear it again
