This Art Deco property also features complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and gift shops/newsstands.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We stayed here with our family, including two grown-up kids, and had a great time. The location is perfect — you can easily walk to 5th Avenue. The hotel has a chill atmosphere, and the rooms are clean, spacious, with good showers and plenty of closet space. Just note that the elevators are only on the lobby side, so if you’re on the pool side on the second floor, you’ll need to take some stairs.
The other services team is excellent — truly the best we’ve experienced, with activities that are fun for adults too, like dance lessons and aqua fitness. The hotel is very clean, and the Riu Party is super fun.
Overall, a great stay for families with adult children who enjoy a relaxed vibe, good entertainment, and a top location.
This is a fantastic hotel and defo a 5 star. Large complex and it’s immaculate. The rooms are large and very clean with good towels and bedding The staff are superb. Bar staff with like crazy and the entertainment team never stop. It’s full on fun. The main restaurant is good with a wide selection but the speciality restaurants are great and you don’t need to book. A lot of famalies here from all over the world but mainly uk USA and Mexico. The two pools are a little small and get busy and the sun beds are cramped together. The beach is lovely but as other reviews says the Dead Sea weed is a nightmare. The hotels try to clear it without much success and you just end up with tractors working on the beach till about 11am. This is a really good 5 star hotel with lots going off. We absolutely loved it.
We had the best time at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya!!! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The hotel and rooms were clean! The food was great!! Th vibe was so fun! My husband and I used the fitness center every day and it was well equipped! The kids enjoyed the pool and eating as much as they could! Lastly I cannot say enough about the other services department! The aqua gym classes every day were the best!! Each and every one of the team had us entertained from day 1!! Joe was our favorite!!! Fernando taught us Latin dancing followed by a calming meditation!!! They truly made the trip more fun!!! We would highly recommend staying here!
Hotel Riu Palace Riviera Maya is, without a doubt, one of the best resort experiences I have had in all my travels so far.
The moment you enter the property, the only word that comes to mind is “WOW!” It feels like stepping into another world — an absolutely stunning white palace. The fresh, refreshing aroma throughout the hotel is also something I will remember for a long time.
But what truly makes this resort special is the people. From the bell boys and front desk team to bartenders, servers, chefs and housekeeping, everyone takes genuine pride in their work. Even when there is a language barrier, they make every effort to understand and find a solution.
The food variety and quality were excellent, the service was prompt, and the entire property was beautifully maintained.
I understand that these are all part of operating a successful resort, but there is a difference between doing a job and taking pride in what you do. That pride was visible everywhere at Riu.
Beautiful places create memories. Beautiful people create experiences.
I came to Mexico for a vacation and left with a wonderful experience and a new perspective.
Thank you, Riu Palace Riviera Maya, for making our stay truly memorable. I would happily return! 🇲🇽❤️
Facilities are NOT 5 star. Pool that is open to children is tiny for a hotel this size and resembles a bath tub which is horrible when it’s warm anyway with no way to feel fresh or cool down. Food is average, lunch buffet not good. Entertainment schedule is good when they bother to turn up.
It’s a 4 star all day long. Disappointing.
