Jorge behind the lobby bar was amazing, took his time getting to know us, our drinks were nevwr empty, he always had a new one waitinf when one was nearly finished.

Such a wonderful resort. We stayed in a Privilege Junior suite within the privilege building. Room was spacious and the bed comfortable and I loved the choice of pillows. Food in all restaurants is fantastic. Our butler David made all our reservations for us and answered any questions we had throughout our holiday. We could contact him via WhatsApp but he also made the effort to check in with us face to face regularly throughout our three week stay. Excellent service and support from David he is a credit to the hotel. I also must mention Jesus who provided us with drinks at the pool and beach throughout our trip. Always smiling and happy to see us and chat again excellent service and a credit to the hotel. Every staff member you see says hello and is happy to chat with you. I don't think I have ever been in a hotel where the staff appear so happy and content. Yes there was some work taking place to improve the hotel during our visit including installation of small pools right below our room. It honestly did not effect us. They started work after 9 when we left the room and we're finished by the time we returned. Some other guests we spoke to requested a room change but we didn't feel it necessary. Hotels need to make improvements and do maintenance and they did this with as much care as possible to the guests staying. Pools are lovely and had absolutely no problem getting a sunbed any time of the day. Yes there is some sargasum on the beach but the staff work hard to clear it. I think we were lucky during our stay as there was less than had been reported before we visited. Special dinner was beautiful and the Mayan evening is superb. Food and show was excellent. We went on a few day trips Chichen Itza and the cenotes, Xcaret , catamaran adult tour to the island and swimming with the whale sharks all booked through our tui rep. The whales were fantastic definitely a once in a life time opportunity but do be aware you do need some strength and stamina to get the most from the trip. The hotel also helped us with a taxi to the local town we were able to WhatsApp the concierge when we wanted picking up. The staff in the hotel do so much for guests and are always at hand. Entertainment is on offer throughout the day and evening. We attended the fire show and white party at the beach, did some wine tasting but also enjoyed simply having a drink in the lobby after dinner. Lots of activities at the swim up bar throughout the day or you can simply chill at the quieter pool with the privilege section which is where we generally preferred. Definitely bring pessos they do take US dollars but pessos are preferred expecially for tips. The only suggestion I would make is for the hotel to have a cash machine to withdraw pessos. There is a cash machine but it only provides US dollars . We did consider going on another trip to a local town but didn't want to draw out the US dollars as the machine also charges quite a lot. All in all a fantastic holiday in a lovely hotel with fantastic food and staff.
