Excellent resort with service to match! Diego, Omar, Manuel, Alesa, and David really helped to make our experience one of the best ever! We will be back!
Arrival hostess Amavilia frias de la pena is really good at her job!! The whole team was awesome but She definitely stood out!!
My experience here was amazing for the 4 days that my partner and I went. The whole staff was amazing and worked well together to provide an exceptional experience for the guests. The arrival hostess named Amavilia Frias de la Pena was such a great individual to us. She was very friendly and helpful with ANYTHING that we needed. Del Mar is lucky to have her. We will definitely come back and hopefully see her again!!
We were 'invited' to a special breakfast with promised upgrade amenities. "Let us amaze you!" was proudly announced in big letters on top of the 'invitation' sheet we received.
To do so, we had to wait until 10 am in our room when an employee came to fetch us and drove us to a Selection-class hotel. There we had to register, were asked to show passports and credit cards, and were questioned about our holiday experience. Then we had to wait again until a 'manager' came to take over.
After that, the whole situation quickly turned out to be nothing else but a high-pressure timeshare sales pitch.
The moment the highly trained sales team realized we were rational, well-informed, and wouldn't blindly sign a $20,000 to $160,000 contract with highly questionable value in return on the spot ("This offer is ONLY TODAY. You HAVE TO SIGN NOW, BECAUSE of our ongoing partnerships with major travel agencies..."), the friendly mask dropped. We were immediately "uninvited" and driven back. No breakfast, no apologies and promise kept: We really were amazed.
The promised perks are only for those ready to cave into a well-prepared manipulation. This whole charade wasted an entire morning of our precious holiday time. Terrible way to treat paying guests.
This is not how you win the loyal customers of tomorrow; this is how you lose them for a lifetime.
