Karina, Alma and Hector were amazing. They helped us with everything we needed during our stay. Reception helped us book a trip to Cozumel and it was very well organized. Rooms were clean. Breakfast on the beach was amazing. We also enjoyed cocktails during the day.

Amazing stay in Playa del Carmen

Everyone was so wonderful Hector especially was extra nice with Alma as well. Very clean and grounds are kept extra nice and the Lido Restaurant had a great breakfast that was incredible and included in your stay. The friendly atmosphere from Hotel and Restaurant will definitely bring me and my Fiancee back there one day . Truly a beautiful stay.

Best Choice For Playa Del Carmen

Excellent stay! It was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had, staff was extremely friendly and helpful with all our questions and booking needs. Room was very clean upon arrival and housekeeping was offered daily. The breakfast was delicious. Can’t think of one negative thing to say about the experience, I’d book here again in a heartbeat.

Best experience

The best thing about this hotel is its beachfront location. I booked a cabin, and it was charming, all at a very reasonable price. The service from all the staff, both in the restaurant and the hotel, was exceptional, especially Alma, who was very attentive and kind, and her colleague Hector. The rooms are spotless, and the breakfast offers a variety of options for every taste.

And what I loved the most is that the hotel is located in an area with the best bars in the city, making it an ideal option  to enjoy the nightlife.

Great service and excellent location

Hotel Colibri is a great escape from the whole madness of Playa Del Carmen 5th Avenue. It is its own space where you can easily disconnect from all that is going around. When you enter the hotel you will directly be experiencing the little jungle haven they’ve created. This was so important for us and helped us enjoy our stay! They also bring in some live bands and DJs which keeps things fun in the hotel if you don’t feel like going out.

Additionally, as a guest of the hotel you get an exclusive 10% discount on all drinks and food! This was so worth it because they definitely have savory food and delicious drinks! This is a great gesture from the hotel, and I wish more hotels did this, because this shows the appreciation of their customers.

We also had a great experience with the staff. For example, Carina helped us book a last minute experience and she consistently kept checking up with the tour operator and keeping us in the loop if it would work out or not. She also kept checking up if the tour operator did meet us and if we got to get on the experience given the last minute rush. She was very thoughtful and supportive through it all. 

Additionally, we had one of the waiters (unfortunately can’t remember his name — brown hair with a well groomed beard) he helped us get a last minute lunch box since we had an early tour. We weren’t informed that we should let the reception know one day beforehand to prepare it, but he made an exception and had the kitchen make it for us so we don’t go without a breakfast. 

We also need to call out Alma that made checking out very easy, and she also gave us written recommendations of activities to do for our next stay at Valladolid! We really appreciated it. 

The only downside of the hotel is the noise. We were staying in the cottage houses and we were very impacted with the surrounding loud music and clubs. I truly wonder if the hotel can do anything more about it. This didn’t bother us much because we already got really tired and just enjoyed Netflix playing in the room to cover the sound of the clubs and falling asleep, but we can understand other light sleepers that might not enjoy this very much. 

Overall, our stay at Colibri was amazing and we loved the supportive and welcoming staff. We had stayed two other places in Mexico before coming here to this hotel, and we haven’t seen the same kindness and help of the staff! Thank you for the great stay!
