Hilton Playa del Carmen

When considering booking an all-inclusive property, I strongly recommend calling the hotel directly beforehand to confirm the current status of the property and its dining options.

We were disappointed to discover that the hotel was transitioning into low season and approximately two-thirds of the restaurants were closed during our stay. This significantly limited the dining experience and was not what we expected when booking an all-inclusive resort.

The situation was even more challenging because I follow a gluten-free diet. Despite communicating this need, it took multiple calls involving Delta Vacations and hotel management before gluten-free products were brought in so I could have a meal I could safely and comfortably enjoy.

I understand that resort amenities and restaurant hours can change seasonally, but these closures and the limited gluten-free options should have been clearly communicated before booking. Guests considering this property—particularly those with dietary restrictions—should confirm restaurant availability and food options directly with the hotel before making their reservation.

This was my first time at the Hyatt Vivid Adults Only resort in Playa Del Carmen and I had very high expections and for the most part those expectations were met, save and accept for one issue that surprised me, that I will mention at the end of my review.

Check In and the Lobby: Very polite and professional, the woman at the front desk who checked me in at around 12:30 pm on September 10th, 2026, was very helpful, warm and welcoming, and I forgot to get her name. She was also ( along with the staff) able to retrieve my very expensive, glasses and case that I had forgotten to take with me, when I left the pool for the day.

The Room: King Sized, Ocean View, Delux Jacuzzi Suite, very spacious, nice decorated with warm tones, very relaxing, clean and a very quiet and efficient climate contral and the rooms have superior insulation, so you do not hear noise from adjacent rooms and I slept like a baby.

The Staff: Excellent customer service and Hospitality, Hyatt has some of the best staff and this was relfected at this hotel. Some names of mention are waiters, Jonathan, Victor, Edgar, Luis and Jari ( sic) the Concierge and Rogeillio aka Roger (sic) the bell hop / valet, he went above and beyond the call of duty. The Entire Entertainment Team both poolside and especially at Night in the Lobby. were totally professional and fun.

The Restaurants and Food: Absolutely sensational ! The options, preparation, visual appeal and most importantly taste. Some of the best cuts of meat, poultry and fish I have ever had while dining in Mexico. You can book dinner on the App or with the Concierge.

The Pools: Spacious, clean and something for everyone, the perfect water temperature.

The Houskeeping: Always on time, the room was cleaned to perfection.

The Aroma Coffee Bar: Great staff, amazing coffee and Barista style drinks and I was blown away by the quality of the Ice Cream they serve.

My ONE Complaint or Dissappoinment: I was truly surprised, in fact stunned, that a Luxury Hotel Brand such as Hyatt, did not offer any high end beers such as Heineken. I make this point, as last year I stayed at the Wyndham Alltra Adults Only, across the street from the Hyatt and they carried both Heineken in Bottles and on Tap and their Non Alcoholic Beer was even Heineken. To Hyatt, surely as one of the world's top International Hotel Brands, you can offer the top International Beer the world over.

The Bottom Line: A great stay and Luxury, and I will return and when I do, I hope they offer Heineken at the bar and in the Restaurants.
