Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
I enjoyed aqua bike with my husband. it was really good. Katia and enrique are really good instructors! So far it's so nice to come back here in vivid. I will come back for the 3rd time.
Had an amazing time with the Aqua Bike class with my wife and our instructors, Katie and Enrique, were amazing! The class was in the morning so it was a great start to be in the water and doing the exercises first thing in the morning. It wasn’t a difficult workout but challenging enough to get the morning started. Would recommend to everyone who comes here to Hyatt Vivid!
Unmatched Service & Vibe! We came to Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen to celebrate our 20th anniversary vow renewal, and we are so glad we took a chance on a new spot! We typically stay at the Wyndham across the street, but making the switch to Hyatt Vivid was the best decision we could have made. The resort itself is pristine, stunning, and huge, with gorgeous landscaping throughout the entire property. The pool energy was fantastic with plenty of fun activities; we had a blast playing volleyball, hitting the foam party, and making custom bracelets and keychains. What truly elevates this property, though, is the exceptional staff. The servers were unbelievable! We never had to wait for a single thing. The bartenders were equally incredible, constantly suggesting amazing drinks tailored to our tastes and getting everyone in our group to try new things. The food at every single restaurant was delicious, and the coffee bar was top-tier, easily rivaling major chains like Starbucks back in the US! A few special shout-outs to the staff members who made our trip so memorable: Madina & Zitzel (Front Desk): Absolute rockstars! They made check-in seamless and took incredible care of us when our AC went out, handling our room move smoothly and without fuss. Alan (Interior Bar): Hands down the best mixologist on the property. Reyes (Swim-Up Bar): Ask him for the "Reyes Special", you won't regret it! Jose Garcia (Rooftop Dinner & Doma): Seamlessly set up and accommodated large tables for our group of 11, making our group dinners extra special. Adem (Cabana Rentals): Went above and beyond to make sure our bottle service and cabana setup were exactly what we wanted. The only downside: The marketing/timeshare sales team. They were extremely pushy and simply would not accept a polite "no thank you." Having to walk past their area to get to the gift shop or the 24-hour bar became a daily hassle because they just would not leave us alone. Overall, despite the pushy sales pitch at the tour desk, the phenomenal service, stunning grounds, and amazing staff made our vow renewal trip unforgettable. We would definitely return!
This was our first non Asia and all inclusive holiday.
We are big foodies and chose this hotel because of its many restaurants and food options it offered.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement, the hotel itself is very good, the staff and service they offer is great.
The disappointment is the fact that most of the restaurants are closed without any notice and the few that are open, their food is below average.
The hotel provides an app that allows you to reserve a table which is great…. The only problem with that is, that when you get to your booked restaurant…… it’s closed… 😡
It would have been nice to have been notified by the hotel before arriving that 50% of the restaurants were closed.
Not good Hyatt, I would have expected a lot better from you.
Very disappointing – hygiene-related closures on arrival
We chose this resort in part because of the extensive choice of restaurants, bars and cafés advertised as being available to guests. Unfortunately, on arrival we discovered that five of the resort's dining facilities — Dolma, Trade Winds, Pelicanos, Aromas Café and Spice Bar — were closed.
Having travelled for more than 20 hours, this was an extremely disappointing start to our holiday.
What made the situation particularly concerning was that the closure notices displayed at the affected facilities referred to hygiene/sanitary issues. This is very different from arriving to find a restaurant closed for refurbishment or simply operating on reduced hours. As guests, seeing multiple facilities closed with notices referring to hygiene and sanitation naturally raises concerns about what has happened and whether there are any wider implications.
What I found particularly disappointing was the lack of clear communication from the hotel. We were not made aware of these closures or the reasons for them before travelling, and nothing was explained to us on arrival. Instead, we discovered the situation ourselves. Though they did try to upsell us on several things.
The resort had been chosen partly because of the variety of dining options available, so having five facilities unavailable significantly reduced the choice we had expected when booking. Had we known we would not have come here.
I'm not suggesting that everything about the resort was poor, and there were certainly aspects of our stay that we enjoyed. However, the combination of the number of closures, the references to hygiene/sanitary issues and the lack of meaningful communication from hotel management made this a very disappointing experience.
If you are considering booking this resort, I would strongly recommend contacting the hotel directly before travelling to confirm that all advertised restaurants, bars and other facilities are actually open and operating normally.
For us, this was a very disappointing start to what should have been a special holiday.
