Wonderful experience from start to finish! The entire experience was great, but what really stood out was the staff. Food was great. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. It felt like they took the time to get to know you as a person rather than treating you like just another guest or another face passing through. From our concierge Alfonso and Braulio who made the stay extra special for our kids (and us!) to everyone at the bistro Lizzette, Jose, Francisco & Adan who quickly made the effort to know us. And Daniela went out of her way to accommodate us and make our Mexican experience feel and taste authentic! That personal touch made the stay feel special and truly enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again!
I think many of these reviews might be AI-generated because I just came back from Gran Velas. Almost everything was shut down, including the Kids Club and Teen Club. They set up a small hotel to serve each function, but my kids did not want to spend a long time in a random hotel room. The main buffet, Zen pool, and several restaurants were closed. When we raised these concerns with the assistant manager, he noted that at least the weather was good. I'm not sure this hotel is worth it, especially since they didn't communicate that the resort would be essentially shut down for construction on major portions. Good service means addressing problems and solving them, not making the guest feel unwelcome, hoping for what was advertised online, and paying a premium for nonexistent services.
What can we say about Grand Velas, other than it was First Class Service all the way! From the moment we stepped out of the taxi till the moment we got in another one going to the airport, we were completely taken care of. There are amazing restaurants, fun water activities, a teen club that my kids wouldn’t stop raving about, and just a perfect relaxing end to our vacation. I can’t recommend it enough!
Grand Velas is a beautiful resort with amazing hospitality. It is a wonderful place to relax and recharge. Our concierges, Braulio and Alfonso were amazing. They took great care of us and made our stay even more sublime.

This was my 5th time at this resort. My niece and | love it so much, we come twice a year! At the Bistro for breakfast and lunch, I couldn't ask for more attention and service. In fact, Fernando and Isaac remembered my love of mimosas! Luz also very attentive and personal. They even brought me the chef, Mario, as I was in love with his butter shrimp and tapioca dish. Finally… a special shout out to Jorge at the pool who treated me like a queen along with Yasmin, Reyes and Gabriella!!! We will be back in March 2027 A very special place
