Just perfect...that's all.
The amazing: the location and the grounds were just perfect. Easy to walk around this large resort. There were several very large pools and a slide (for kids & adults). The drinks were amazing.
The room was just perfect. We had a slight obstruction of view of the ocean and they quickly changed our room. The staff was amazing.
The great: we did dinner there one night with a fire show and singer. The food was just ok but the show was great. The experience was way overpriced.
The good: hotel amenities were fine. It was very crowded but fun at the same time.
We will definitely stay at the Westin Lagunamar again if we come back to Cancun.

Family Trip
The location of the resort was excellent, directly across the street from a great plaza with restaurants and shops. Javier was excellent with assisting us with booking the best family adventures: Tulum, turtles, sailing, snorkeling, etc. The owners White NIght on the beach was an amazing evening hosted by Carolina. The Westin Spa was nice and highly recommend the Heavenly Massage. Overall the venue and rooms were great! The pool was really nice overlooking the ocean. The food on property wasn't the best, so it was nice to have a kitchen for snacks and a quick meal if needed. The entire resort team were very attentive and very friendly.
Generally OK Just Not Special
Plusses and Minuses:
- Extremely difficult to access as main road Kukulcan Blvd is under heavy construction with detours and massive traffic jams--not informed of this condition when we booked.
- Check in (Brandon) haphazard--lots of rules, $25 per day in taxes and fees in addition to what we pay for Maintenance and taxes as owners
- Parking a long walk from units.
4)Arrived late and found on site restaurant closed on Saturday--one of busiest days for arriving/departing guests. 5) Duna Sports bar--hostess inflexible and impertinent-we left. 6) Owners get 20% discount on food in restaurants but not until you visit concierge who tries to coerce you to attend owners update-read sales pitch! Plusses:
- Large unit in 2 bedroom lock-off was huge, attractively furnished, had fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, dining table with room for 6, provided bathrobes, large bathroom with walk in shower and 2 wash basins, very quiet and a beautiful ocean view!!
- Adjacent smaller unit had king bed, small kitchen area fully equipped, washer/dryer, comfortable convertible sofa and balcony overlooking ocean and pool area.
- Grounds were kept well maintained and attractive; facility had 3 large pools with large number of shaded loungers, umbrellas, and several pool bars one bein a swim up facility!
On balance a relaxing stay with good service BUT not much differentiation for owners versus daily/ weekly rentals or other guests.

Run it back
Second time through Lagunamar, and definitely enjoyed it more this time than last. Some slight headaches getting to the resort due to the road construction near the causeway but the location truly can’t be beat.
Right across the street from La Isla, if you feel like leaving the resort to shop or seek some other food options. Grocery stores and Uber Eats are available for delivery, so if you need essentials or snacks that is certainly and option.
My only true complaint is that I wish the Viento dining options were available beyond 6:00p. I understand the resort is hoping you opt for Oceano, but not every night is a fancy meal night.
A special shout out to Victor at the premium bar - took the time to chat about spirits, drinks, and crafting using local ingredients with minimal waste.

Comfortable Stay and Great Location
Great location across from La Isla mall which offers a variety of restaurants. Having access to so many restaurants is a plus, especially since there are only a few options onsite, and the pool restaurant, Viento, closes before dinner. It would be great if they offered more casual dining options for dinner.
The resort is on a great stretch of beach, although depending on the time of year, there can be sargassum.
The property is very well maintained. There are two giant pools, a waterslide, and four large hottubs. They have miniature golf and tennis courts, along with a nice gym. There are several grills throughout the property you can use to bbq, along with many tables and chairs, so you can enjoy a nice sunset dinner.
Staff is very friendly and attentive.
The rooms are large and have all the amenities you need including a washer and dryer, even in the studio units. The beds are very comfortable and luxurious.
Overall, a very comfortable place to stay in a great location!
