Plusses and Minuses:
- Extremely difficult to access as main road Kukulcan Blvd is under heavy construction with detours and massive traffic jams--not informed of this condition when we booked.
- Check in (Brandon) haphazard--lots of rules, $25 per day in taxes and fees in addition to what we pay for Maintenance and taxes as owners
- Parking a long walk from units.
4)Arrived late and found on site restaurant closed on Saturday--one of busiest days for arriving/departing guests. 5) Duna Sports bar--hostess inflexible and impertinent-we left. 6) Owners get 20% discount on food in restaurants but not until you visit concierge who tries to coerce you to attend owners update-read sales pitch! Plusses:
- Large unit in 2 bedroom lock-off was huge, attractively furnished, had fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, dining table with room for 6, provided bathrobes, large bathroom with walk in shower and 2 wash basins, very quiet and a beautiful ocean view!!
- Adjacent smaller unit had king bed, small kitchen area fully equipped, washer/dryer, comfortable convertible sofa and balcony overlooking ocean and pool area.
- Grounds were kept well maintained and attractive; facility had 3 large pools with large number of shaded loungers, umbrellas, and several pool bars one bein a swim up facility!
On balance a relaxing stay with good service BUT not much differentiation for owners versus daily/ weekly rentals or other guests.

Family Trip
The location of the resort was excellent, directly across the street from a great plaza with restaurants and shops. Javier was excellent with assisting us with booking the best family adventures: Tulum, turtles, sailing, snorkeling, etc. The owners White NIght on the beach was an amazing evening hosted by Carolina. The Westin Spa was nice and highly recommend the Heavenly Massage. Overall the venue and rooms were great! The pool was really nice overlooking the ocean. The food on property wasn't the best, so it was nice to have a kitchen for snacks and a quick meal if needed. The entire resort team were very attentive and very friendly.
Just perfect...that's all.
The amazing: the location and the grounds were just perfect. Easy to walk around this large resort. There were several very large pools and a slide (for kids & adults). The drinks were amazing.
The room was just perfect. We had a slight obstruction of view of the ocean and they quickly changed our room. The staff was amazing.
The great: we did dinner there one night with a fire show and singer. The food was just ok but the show was great. The experience was way overpriced.
The good: hotel amenities were fine. It was very crowded but fun at the same time.
We will definitely stay at the Westin Lagunamar again if we come back to Cancun.

Amazing experience as always
Even though we had a disappointing experience at the Greek restaurant during our trip, our stay at the Westin Lagunamar was absolutely spectacular.
From the moment we arrived, Oscar at the front desk made us feel genuinely welcome.
A huge thank you to our incredible team at the swim-up pool bar—Armando, Alejandro, Cesar, Sergio, and Sandy. You all went above and beyond every single day and made our afternoons at the pool something we looked forward to.
I’d also like to thank the wonderful young lady who took care of me during breakfast and who also worked at the sports bar from time to time (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name!), Sandy, Oscar, and Juan, who were all in gray (sorry, I’m terrible with names!), another wonderful lady whose name I unfortunately can’t remember, Omar for helping with our reservations, and the young ladies at the gift shop/Starbucks area. Every one of you greeted us with a smile, treated us with kindness and respect, and always made sure we had everything we needed.
What stood out the most wasn’t just the outstanding service—it was how personal it felt. The fact that so many of you remembered my name, asked how I was doing, what we’d been up to, and genuinely cared about our experience made us feel like we were home, not just staying at a resort.
This was our third stay here, and it had been three years since our last visit. The fact that so many staff members still remembered us truly put a smile on my face. That level of hospitality is rare and says a lot about the amazing people who work here.
Thank you to the management and every member of the staff for creating such a welcoming atmosphere. You made this vacation unforgettable, and we’re already looking forward to coming back—hopefully much sooner rather than later.

Ok for a large hotel
Large hotel, ok service, but the concierge JJ was great! 2 gyms, lovely pools! Tends to be an American stop over hotel. Stayed there to get over jet lag before we toured yucatan.
