Wonderful our vacation.
This resort was truly excellent during my stay in Cancun. The well-maintained facilities, great food, and the friendliness of the staff are the reasons I recommend it.
Quiet, safe, relaxing resort
The Royal Cancun was beautiful and felt very safe. The pools and beach access were perfect for my 3 kids. Love that the beach is kind of in a bay so there aren’t big harsh waves. We got a room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms it was the perfect size for our family of 5. Room service was good but would take a long time. Overall food was mid. Not a ton of options. There are two restaurants. The Italian restaurant was ok. I give it a 3/5. The Steaks throughout the resort were consistently great though! Maid service was great! Waiters and staff were overall great but there is one very grumpy bartender at the swim up bar which made it not fun ordering drinks. He seemed annoyed at everything. We did an excursion through the Thomas transportation service through the resort. That went well and felt safe. The only problem Was, we were told a breakfast was included and didn’t find out it actually wasn’t until we got to the excursion location.
Small and intimate condo resort
The Royal Cancun feels like staying at a small condo complex (Think: Melrose Place without the drama , Gen Xers) with friends rather than at a resort. The shallow calm beach is great for families, and it’s so fun to watch all the fish swimming around the dock.
Royal without royalty features.
Excellent location. I am a huge fan of snorkeling and loved the clear waters and snorkeling off of the pier. The atmosphere is very light with a laid back and cozy feeling. There are many families who return yearly. The rooms are enormous. I loved the 2 story suite with the master bedroom on the second level. Superb amount of space. The value is excellent if you enjoy quiet and quaint. Value over-all is subjective. If you want to dine only at the resort, there is only 2 restaurants. The buffet off of the beach is excellent! The Italian restaurant is ok. Unfortunately, the food quality has diminished over the years since the property was sold. But don’t let that deter you. You can walk out of the lobby and take the local bus 1 dollar one way, wherever you want to go. It’s truly fun! Cleanliness here is excellent! Everything is constantly cleaned daily.

Home away from home
The location is great, there are a lot of places that are walking distance and the scenery is beautiful. The atmosphere is very chill and family oriented. Rooms are very spacious and clean.
