What can we say about the Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun? Simply put: WOW! Once again, Riu has given us an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, appreciated, and truly taken care of. This is much more than a beautiful resort—it is the people who make this place so special. The Senior Manager (Maria) and the entire management team (Gustavo and Omar) deserve our sincere thanks and recognition. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to guests are outstanding. You can see that they genuinely care about creating a wonderful experience for everyone. And then there is the entire staff. Every single person we encountered—from the front desk to housekeeping, restaurants, bars, pool and beach service, and all the wonderful people working behind the scenes—was friendly, smiling, attentive, and incredibly hardworking. Their dedication makes such a difference. We felt like more than guests; we felt like family. The food was fantastic! So much variety, freshness, and quality. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and the specialty restaurants—all offered something delicious. There was always something to look forward to, and the service in the restaurants made every meal even more enjoyable. And the ambience of the resort is simply wonderful. The beautiful beach, the pools, the tropical surroundings, the music, and the relaxed atmosphere create the perfect place to enjoy a vacation. Whether you want to relax or have fun, everything is there. But what truly stays with us are the people. A resort can have beautiful rooms, wonderful food, and an amazing location, but it is the staff who create the memories. The team at Riu Palace Las Americas does that exceptionally well. To the Senior Manager, management team, and every member of the Riu family: THANK YOU! Thank you for your smiles, your kindness, your professionalism, and all the little things you do every day to make your guests happy. We came to Cancun for a vacation, but we left with wonderful memories and an even greater appreciation for the people who made our stay so special. Five stars without hesitation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely loved our stay, and we are already looking forward to coming back. Riu Palace Las Americas—see you again soon! ❤️🌴 A.C.
Very nice hotel and good location , service and food was very good
Such a gorgeous resort and the staff were very attentive- they remembered our drinks and brought a cake for our birthday celebration! We played in the beautiful turquoise ocean, it was heavenly.. a memory forever <3
Stayed at the Riu Las Americas in August for 11 nights. We have stopped in lots of Riu hotels and this one is an amazing hotel, food was superb, the speciality restaurants are like going out for an a la carte meal rather than a hotel all inc. although the buffet is fab too.
Quick Summary Rooms are large but a bit dated Pools are lovely, 3 in total, quiet pool, central infinity pool (this does get in the shade from early afternoon) and the activity pool. We loved the activity pool in the mornings up to about 2.00pm but after this time is does get very lively and busy (a bit 18-30’s vibe) which was too much for us so we always moved mid afternoon.
Worth pointing out that from Thursday-Sunday there is an influx of large parties of girls/boys, predominantly from America. Everyone we met was very friendly and happy to chat to us but not many British UK travellers in this hotel. Met some lovely people from Texas, the english accent is a big hit.
Entertainment team are all great, full of fun, they do push the Riu parties which are not at this hotel, we didn’t go to them this year but we have in the past and they are like an Ibiza Party.
Beach is nice but not a long stretch as the hotel is on a corner. Not much sea weed.
It is definitely worth paying the extra for a Palace Hotel, drinks all branded, waiter service is outstanding, they are everywhere getting you drinks and top ups.
I think the only thing that lets the hotel down is the evening entertainment, it is very limited, I think this is because they push the parties so much. We found very little entertainment at night that was worth watching , which was a shame really.
Also there is a definite damp smell around the hotel corridors, a bit like the carpets have been cleaned and then left damp. It didn’t really bother us but worth pointing out. The view from our room was amazing and the sunset in the morning was definitely worth getting ip for.
All in all we had a great time and loved it. Would we go back to this hotel? Not sure as the clientele is on the younger end ie 20-40 ish (we are old now at early 50’s) and we would have liked more entertainment at night, but the hotel is amazing and you cannot go and not have a fab time with the beautiful views, food, drink and staff.
Great place to be in Cancun, lovely staff, great food and drinks, beautiful beach, easy access to all attractions. Loved it. Place is very clean and looks great
