The Riu Caribe All Inclusive is fantastic hotel situated directly on one of the long, white sandy beaches of Cancun. It is not far from the entertainment area of Cancún, enjoying a good central location. The centre is approximately 6 km and in the immediate surroundings guests will find numerous shopping sites as well as numerous restaurants, various bars, pubs, cafes and many other entertainment facilities. Outstanding surroundings and exceptional amenities, will guarantee an incomparable experience.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Riu Caribe is one of the best Riu hotels I've visited. Everything from the time we got there to the minute we left was amaizing. Service was excellent. Jorge did our check-in and he provided exceptional customer service. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and birthday and the hotel made sure to make our experience very special. They went the extra mile always. Food was ok, I would say a 4 out of 5. Rooms were excellent 5 out of 5 very clean and modern. Pools and beach were very clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Israel is the best for pool services and Vicente made the best lattes every morning for us. Entertainment team was great as well. We are definately coming back with a much biger group. Thank you for the memorable stay!
Been to a few Riu hotels but this was excellent. Check in very fast (although we didnt get in till 20.00 hours so of course it was busy then. Unfortunately no luggage man available at the time so this wasnt a moan at all but wish had of been told at the time. Room was cleaned when we arrived and throughout the entire holiday to a great standard. We didnt ask for sheets to be changed regularly but they were anyway. Drinks in fridge topped up every 2 days never had to remind them. Restaurants all excellent for us. My wife preferred the shangri-la , myself margarita. However we liked them all. Bars were all good our favourite was the lobby bar and sports bar but the lobby definitely for us on a nightime as we like to chill. Pools were good but ourselves we like the one where most of the activities took place. The one thing that was missing from this at the private beach was the beach waiters/tresses. Not much of a problem but weve had these in the past at other hotels. Only thing I would stress to folk this is busy hotel the police were called several times and people were evicted but this only means the hotel is looking after us in my view. Would we come back Yes tomorrow if we could , the staff were all amazing every single one of them from security to maid . See you all next year Neil/Gail Tyneside united kingdom.
I celebrated my bachelorette at the Riu Caribe and I couldn’t have hoped for better, it was absolutely perfect. The hotel is large and clean, the staff is kind and courteous, and the beach is absolutely beautiful. Riu Caribe is a hotel made for people who love to party; the entertainment is constant, incredibly fun, and the atmosphere is amazing. The food is good — it’s not the highlight — but everything else is simply fantastic. For all future brides, I highly recommend this hotel for your bachelorette.
Absolutely horrific experience – room break-in, stolen engagement ring and drinks spiked on the same night
Our experience at the Riu Caribe was absolutely horrific. What was supposed to be a special holiday turned into an extremely frightening and heartbreaking experience.
Before our trip, the hotel helped us plan our engagement, making us feel that this was going to be a truly special and memorable occasion. Unfortunately, on one particular night, that special experience was completely ruined.
We attended a Riu party that evening and both had our drinks spiked. What happened afterwards was extremely distressing. While we were dealing with the effects of being spiked, we returned to our hotel room to discover that it had been broken into.
Our engagement ring was stolen during the break-in, which made the incident even more devastating. This was not just a valuable item; it held enormous sentimental value and was connected to one of the most important moments of our lives. The fact that the hotel had helped us plan our engagement made the loss feel even more upsetting and personal.
Having our drinks spiked and then discovering that someone had gained unauthorised access to our hotel room on the very same night left us feeling completely unsafe and vulnerable.
We immediately reported the break-in and theft to the hotel staff, expecting the situation to be treated extremely seriously. Unfortunately, the response we received was deeply disappointing. Staff were rude, dismissive and extremely unhelpful when we were already distressed, shaken and dealing with the loss of such an important personal item.
We asked to be moved to another room because there was absolutely no way we felt comfortable returning to or sleeping in a room that had been broken into. Our request was refused.
This was completely unacceptable to us. After an incident like this, we expected the hotel to prioritise our safety and wellbeing. Instead, we felt as though our concerns were being dismissed.
The fact that we experienced both drink spiking at a hotel event and a break-in to our room on the same night, during which our engagement ring was stolen, made us question the level of security at the resort and whether guests are actually being adequately protected.
What happened that night completely ruined our holiday. More importantly, it destroyed our sense of safety at the resort and overshadowed what should have been a joyful and unforgettable engagement celebration.
We appreciate that incidents can happen, but what matters is how a hotel responds when something serious happens to its guests. In our experience, the response from the Riu Caribe was nowhere near what we would expect from a resort of this size and reputation.
We would never stay at the Riu Caribe again, and advise anyone looking to book here to strongly reconsider.
Went here for my bachelor party for 5 days. I will start off by saying the service was great and everyone was very friendly, that is about the only thing i can say was actually good. The food was very limited and almost everything we tried was absolutely terrible. The breakfast was so bad and the only thing that was okay was the bacon. This was my first time staying at a Riu hotel but i feel i was very mislead with the “party aspect” that this property advertises. There was absolutely no music at the pools the dj pool is closed the entire time and only open for a couple hours when they have themed night “parties.” We tried the white party and the dj was terrible it was like house edm music for 2 hours straight and not one person was in the pool, this definitely wasn’t a party resort and i’ve been to other resorts where they are way more interactive with the guest and want to make it a party when you’re in the pool and have music playing. The shows they have donoe even have a theme, just a bunch of people jumping around on stage. On top of everything there is 0 room service. This place just was not it and i will never stay at another riu again.
