The hotel is located in first-line of the beach, and 24 km from the airport. It has 288 comfortable rooms, a Spa and a large beach. It has two restaurants: La Veranda with a beautiful view of the swimming pool, of the gardens and to the main terrace, where you will enjoy the buffet and themed dinners. El Mirador, with a romantic and luxurious atmosphere , with an incomparable Caribbean sunsets. Three bars: Lobby Bar, with a great variety of national and international drinks. The dune, located next to the upper pool, is quiet and cosy. La Langosta, located in the main pool of the hotel. And finally two snacks-bar: The Garden, the favorite place for children with delicious burgers, hot dogs and drinks. And the Patio La Veranda, with delicious light dishes. It also offers a wide variety of activities and watersports such as water aerobics, dance or football on the beach among others. It has two swimming pools and a gym. On the other hand, you can visit the Mayan ruin of Yamil Lu'um, which has access from the hotel. Alternatively, can go to La Isla shopping center, which is across the hotel, in the heart of the hotel zone.
We stayed at the Park Royal Beach Cancun at the end of July 2026.It was a family trip with our kids who are 10 and 13 years old. Let's start with the positives. The location of the Resort cannot be beaten. Its right across the street from La Isla shopping mall. You can walk to lots of activities and quite a few nice restaurants are within walking distance. The beach was nice, with Palapa huts and umbrellas. We had an Ocean view room with balcony and plunge pool/hot tub which made our trip/stay at the hotel not a complete failure. If we didn't choose the Oceanview family room, we would have been miserable for the entire trip. The resort is not luxurious in any way. We ended up choosing the resort because it was the only one that offered a family suite (2 big rooms) with Ocean view with our flight/hotel combo booking from an online site. The hotel is all inclusive, and we choose that option because we felt it would be easier on us for dining and drinks with three kids. The appearance of the hotel from the street gives you a nice Cancun vacation vibe. Check in was seamless and we got our luggage delivered to our room. Checkin process seems well rehearsed/polished and you felt like you're going to stay at a mid level+ resort. You received your non removable wristband/ankle/wrist monitor (60 US) if you lost it. Cannot be removed for the entire trip. Everyone in Cancun knew that you were a guest at the Park Royal beach (scarlet letter). Safety issue/targeted . The hotel needs to move away from this non removable wristband approach. Our trip was booked for 5 nights. By night two, we wanted to be someplace else. Drinks were good at all the bars, no complaints there. You wouldn't starve and there was plenty of food at the Buffet restaurant and outside snack bar(hot dogs, burgers and nachos). The entertainment was scarce and was geared to the predominantly local guests. If you wanted to be immersed in Latin culture and practice your Spanish, this would be nirvana. As a monolingual family, we felt lost within that atmosphere. It was not fulfilling or rewarding. As stated earlier, our Ocean front hot tub/plunge pool provided some respite. The family pool in the resort is way too small for the number of guests(overcrowded). The adult pool was good, but there was no bar service. Kids would rather stay in the room that enjoy the public facilities. The hotel was in the process of constructing an adult pool bar. the buffet was OK but not great. Food was always the same, and bland. Nothing to talk about. We never set foot inside the small Italian restaurant. The lines were always long. No other ding options, except a nighttime taco stand and that had a line. Buffet options, cheaper food. The staff at the buffet were nice. The hotel rooms need some upkeep and maintenance. Missing sink stoppers, broken door handle to get to the balcony, and minor annoyances, lack of electrical outlets and needs new sofa bed. It was rickety and beneath the cushion was stained. . The hotel cleaning staff was good. We had strategized that since Park Royal Beach was all inclusive, we would do 70 pct resort focused activities and 30 pct outside excursions. We had to change that ratio because the resort was not big enough and not nice enough. Thankfully we found out that the Westin Lagunamar resort is right next door and we were able to secure a room for a few nights (double reservations and not all inclusive) to make up for the stay at the Park royal beach. The difference between the two properties were as wide as the Gulf of Mexico. We got our monies worth from the Westin. Buffet breakfast was flavorful and service was impeccable. Remember those Wristbands, non removable . Had to walk around with them on while staying at the Westin. We don't feel like the Park Royal Beach is the kind of resort that caters to middle class families, despite their glossy website and promotional material. A stay at the Riu might have been more fulfilling. Park Royal Beach benefits from its location and affordability to local families. We were bored by day two. Thankfully our excursions to isla mujeres ,plaza las americas ,La isla cancun mall Mochomos restaurant, and our diversion to the Westin Lagunamar salvaged our trip. We took our travel bag from one hotel to the next and the security at the Park royal beach gate had the audacity to ask if laundry was in the bag. This is a vacation resort and not a prison complex. I would not stay here again. We were travelling from NYC. Not worth the hastle or the money. The last-minute nature of our trip made us make the unfortunate choice of staying at the Park Royal beach. Improve the restaurants, pools and maybe you will get a better rating. Too many guests and too little space/amenities. A suggestion is to turn the rooftop bar into a restaurant and utilize the lobby bar into food focused experiences. Thank you
Thanks Janet for keeping take care of any issues we see while our stay . She’s very helpful on getting everything fixed asap like AC , door lock or any maintenance issues .
We recently stayed at Park Royal Beach Resort Cancun, and while our vacation didn't start off perfectly, it ended up being a wonderful experience thanks to Juan Carlos from the concierge team.
On our first day, the room we were assigned had several issues, including the air conditioning not working properly, along with housekeeping and maintenance concerns. We spoke with Juan Carlos, and he immediately took ownership of the situation. He tried getting the issues fixed, but later arranged for us to be moved to another room, and the replacement room was exactly what we expected. Everything was clean, well maintained, and working perfectly.
What really impressed us was that Juan Carlos didn't just solve the problem and move on. He checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well and genuinely cared about our family's experience.
The highlight of our trip was my son's 18th birthday. Juan Carlos helped arrange a small birthday celebration in our room that evening. It was a thoughtful surprise that made the occasion even more special for our son and our entire family. It's a memory we'll always cherish.
Excellent customer service is hard to find, and Juan Carlos truly went above and beyond. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail turned what could have been a disappointing start into an unforgettable vacation. Thank you, Juan Carlos, for making our stay so memorable. You are a real asset to Park Royal Beach Resort Cancun!
That said, I hope the resort continues to improve its air conditioning maintenance, as room comfort is a key part of the guest experience. I would also love to see more dining options added, as the resort currently offers only the Veranda and Italian restaurants. Expanding the restaurant selection would make the overall experience even better for future guests.
The waitress Carmen was amazing he made me feel at home she always made sure our drinks were full and always had jokes
The waitress Carmen was a real laugh and a very amazing woman. Every meal that I’ve had (breakfast or morning) has been a genuine experience, she made me feel like home and will never forget the experience that Carmen has given me.
