The Warmth of Mexico
Occidental Costa Cancun has impecable service, seated on the beach with a pool ideally located with easy access to food, the bar, bathrooms and excellent day and nightime entertainment. It's clean, food variety and friendly staff. We most definitely would recommend.

Stay far away!!
This place was terrible! The food was awful!! All 4 of us hated it. The buffet doors are left open for all the flies to eat. The snack bar was leftovers that were out for a long period of time. The vanilla ice cream didn’t taste right some days. Maybe if you clean it will actually be good. Your maintenance staff never shows up..our phone didn’t work so we had to go the desk anytime we needed something. We sweat our asses off every night because of incompetent people not showing up.The drinks suck! I felt like a little kid with those cups. You should have plastic wine glasses and have them look nicer. I was 10 years old again.

Spend your money elsewhere
Check in poor. Told to leave the members check in as she was busy. As soon as I did she immediately checked in Mexican guest behind. The girl who did check me in said a 3 bed room was not possible. I had a confirmation for a 3 bed room. Guess what when I got to the room it had 3 beds. Buffet restaurant was closed with no explanation given. This resulted in the themed restaurants not being available as advertised and buffet served in them. As for the snack counter. You can not go to it from the pool. You can not take food from it to the pool. So if you want to eat you need to leave the pool go to your room get changed and go all the way back. This place is nowhere close to the standards of European Barcelo. It is cheap for a reason but not worth saving the money. Go somewhere more interested in guests food was repetitive and low quality, warm not hot. Would not recommend and I say that as a repeat customer of this group for over 30 years so I do not do so lightly

Could use some improvements and repairs. Location is great and the staff is very friendly. The menu and food options are really good.
