Overall very disappointed with how I was treated during my stay. The staff like Humberto for the lobby bar, Frederico for the bell boys, Helinda for the pizza, and Adrian for the lobby front desk were phenomenal and super helpful during my stay. They made me enjoy being there. As for everything else, horrible. My family and I have been members for over 20 years and the treatment of members over the years have gone down. My member representative was unhelpful, there was a wig in my room that was left by the cleaning staff which was not mine, and he did not do much to help as well as the hotel staff taking 6 hours to come and remove it from my room. I had to go down to the front desk to ask again for someone to come and take it out as it was not mine. During check out, Edgar was very rude. He did not give us the slip for the bellboys and immediately ignored my partner when he went back to ask for the ticket. Edgar acted like we lost it. It was not until one of the bell boys came to defend us, that he made another ticket. During my stay, I had to change my room because the AC was not working in it and I had to ask for them to check it twice before I was given a room change. Food and reservations system were not good. Cafe Solaris was great but everywhere else, the service was good but the food was okay. Veneto restaurant was great. I grew up coming to this resort and I used to love everything about it but based on how I was treated on this last trip, I don’t think I would recommend coming here to stay.
The hotel was lovely and clean, the staff were always friendly. The food was delicious too. We enjoyed doing yoga in the mornings at Israel’s’ classes, he’s a very good yoga teacher and a really nice friendly chap.
One of the best solo trip experience I had at GR Caribe. Huge thanks for Malu, Lupita, and Israel to show up and keep me company, teach me about the birth of the baby turtles, while I have my coffee at sunrise. And the 7a.m. yoga with Israel on tennis court and 9 a.m at the marina. Even if no one shows up, he will do the class for one! What a way to start every morning. Nice meeting with Oliver and Edger too at the gym. Then just enjoy the vibe by the pool with other guests, or take a private English-Spanish class with Suleica. I got to release a lot of those baby turtles at night back to the Ocean. Thanks to Alfredo on the beach working hard on saving those little ones, while teaching us a lot about the process. Definitely will return. Other solo travelers that I met on this trip feel the same way.
The servers here are amazing. Special shoutout to Alfredo Jimenez and Fernando Riki and Felipe. They were very attentive and made us feel special. Also had an amazing massage with Sara, Karen,Alejandro, and Conchy. Amazing team. Left feeling refreshed. Bartender Jaime and another guy I can’t remember his name were amazing and good vibes. Definitely had a great time. 10/10 would recommend
Went here for our 15 Wedding Anniversary. My husband and i absolutely love our experience here specially the seafood restaurant. We also had a great time with Israel who is in charge of physical fitness (yoga, gym, aerobics etc). Israel was supportive, helpful and knowledgeable about many health topics and fitness. I would recommend this resort and plan to go back.
