Crown Paradise Club Cancun All Inclusive

In my opinion, Crown Paradise Club Hotel is a 4-star hotel with a lot to offer. I recently stayed here as a solo traveller and, as a visually impaired guest with very limited vision, I feel it is important to share my experience from both an accessibility and general holiday perspective.

Overall, I had an amazing holiday and there are many things about this hotel that I absolutely loved. There were also some areas where I feel the hotel could improve considerably.

Reception & Hotel Management

Starting with reception, I found the staff to be friendly at times, although some members of the team could come across as unhelpful or even slightly rude. I didn’t always feel that my questions or requests were dealt with as helpfully as they could have been.

However, I have to give special recognition to the Hotel Manager, Francisco.

Francisco couldn’t have done more to help whenever I had an issue. He was also extremely helpful with issues that arose for friends I met during my holiday. Whenever something needed resolving, Francisco listened, took the matter seriously and did his best to find a solution.

His customer service was a real credit to the hotel and, without his help, I think some of the issues I experienced would have been much more difficult to resolve.

Concierge – An Area That Needs Improvement

Unfortunately, the concierge team was by far the biggest disappointment of my stay.

I found the service to be extremely poor. On several occasions, I tried to book the à la carte restaurants through the concierge team, but they either wouldn’t assist me properly or, when bookings were made, they were sometimes for the wrong day, wrong time or even the wrong restaurant.

What disappointed me most was the lack of willingness to resolve these mistakes. As a visually impaired guest, I rely heavily on staff assistance in situations like this, so I found the experience particularly frustrating.

Thankfully, when I raised these issues with Francisco, he was extremely helpful and did what he could to put things right.

In my opinion, the concierge service is an area where the hotel really needs to improve.

Lobby Bar 🍹

The lobby bar was probably my favourite place in the hotel in the evenings.

The service here was absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere was lovely. The music was chilled, the environment was relaxed and it was a great place to sit and enjoy a drink after a day in the sun.

I would particularly like to give Ruby a massive mention. She was one of the most delightful people I met during my entire stay.

Knowing that I have very limited vision, Ruby would help me locate a seat, bring my drinks over and generally make sure I was comfortable. She was always friendly, kind and genuinely happy to help.

Her kindness and willingness to assist made a huge difference to my experience, and she deserves recognition for providing such wonderful customer service.

Pool Bar & Pool Area ☀️🍹

The pool bar was brilliant.

The service was quick, the staff were pleasant and the atmosphere around the pool was exactly what I wanted from a holiday in Cancun.

This is definitely the place to be during the day if you’re looking for activities, music, drinks and a lively atmosphere. There was always something going on, and it was a great place to spend the day.

If you want somewhere lively with music and plenty happening around you, the pool area is definitely the place to be.

Beach Bar 🌴

The beach bar was another highlight for me.

The service was consistently good, the staff were friendly and I had some great laughs with them during my stay. There was good music, great vibes and a really relaxed holiday atmosphere.

I spent a lot of enjoyable time around here and would definitely recommend making the most of the beach bar during your stay.

Buffet Restaurant 🍽️

I was really impressed with the buffet restaurant.

The staff were extremely helpful, particularly considering my visual impairment. They would help me find a seat and, importantly, would assist me with getting food because I couldn’t always see exactly what was available.

That level of assistance made such a difference to me and meant that I could enjoy the restaurant without constantly worrying about what I was missing.

As for the food itself, I thought it was absolutely fantastic.

There was always plenty of choice, and I never struggled to find something I liked. There was a huge variety available, so you really are spoiled for choice.

À La Carte Restaurants

Wayne’s Boots – ❌

Unfortunately, Wayne’s Boots was by far the worst dining experience of my stay.

Personally, I found it extremely disappointing and would not recommend it. In my opinion, there are much better options available at the hotel, so I would suggest trying one of the other restaurants instead.

Mexican Restaurant – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Mexican restaurant was absolutely stunning.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Definitely one of the restaurants worth trying during your stay.

Italian Restaurant – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Italian restaurant was my personal favourite.

The food was beautiful, the service was excellent and the whole experience was exactly what I wanted from an à la carte restaurant.

I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.

Fish Restaurant – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The fish restaurant was divine.

The food was fantastic and it was another restaurant that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Definitely worth booking if you enjoy seafood.

Rooms & Housekeeping 🛏️

The rooms are a really good size and provided plenty of space.

The beds are perhaps slightly on the hard side for my personal preference, but I still found them comfortable enough to get a good night’s sleep.

The air conditioning worked well, which was very welcome in the Cancun heat, and the minibar was restocked daily.

Housekeeping was good overall and kept the room clean and tidy throughout my stay.

Room service is available at an additional cost of $5 USD per delivery to the room. The food and drinks themselves are included within the all-inclusive package, but there is a delivery charge.

One thing I would mention is the laundry service. I found this to be shockingly expensive, so personally I wouldn’t use the laundry service again.

Accessibility & My Experience as a Visually Impaired Guest

As someone who is visually impaired and travelling solo, accessibility and the willingness of staff to assist is particularly important to me.

One thing I was particularly pleased with was the excellent provision of ramps throughout the hotel. There are ramps in numerous areas, making it much easier to get around the resort and access the different facilities.

I found this to be a real positive, and it’s something worth mentioning for anyone who has mobility requirements or finds steps difficult.

As someone with very limited vision, I also appreciated the staff members who were willing to assist me when I needed help navigating certain situations, finding seating or choosing food.

My experience with staff assistance was mixed. There were certainly some areas where I felt the hotel could do much better, particularly with the concierge team. However, there were also members of staff who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and able to enjoy my holiday.

The staff at the buffet, the lobby bar and the bars generally were particularly helpful, and people like Ruby made a genuine difference to my stay.

I don’t expect everyone to understand exactly what it is like travelling with very limited vision, but when staff are willing to listen and help, it makes such a huge difference.

Evening Entertainment 🎶

The evening entertainment was really enjoyable.

It was fun, interactive and there was a good variety of entertainment throughout the evenings. It added to the overall atmosphere of the hotel and gave guests something to do after dinner.

I particularly enjoyed the interactive side of the entertainment, as it made the evenings feel lively rather than simply being something to watch.

Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Would I return? Absolutely.

Despite the issues I’ve mentioned, I had an amazing holiday at Crown Paradise Club Hotel.

There is plenty to do, the atmosphere is generally fun and relaxed, there are several excellent places to eat and drink, and there are some genuinely fantastic members of staff who made my stay memorable.

For me, the hotel is a solid 4-star experience, although I do think there are areas that need improvement — particularly the concierge service.

A special thank you to Francisco, the Hotel Manager, for being so helpful whenever I needed assistance, and to Ruby at the lobby bar for being such a kind, caring and genuinely lovely person.

The hotel isn’t perfect, but no hotel is. For me, the positives definitely outweighed the negatives, and I came away with some fantastic memories from my time in Cancun.
