Am very disappointed this was a hotel I love to go too From the management until the smallest staff it’s was the best hotel to go to and have a peaceful time
Today from trying to check in delays not knowing when the room will be ready No one assisting you with your bags.
I left the hotel booking another hotel got treated will better.
Don’t know why the high rate.
Really feel sorry what have became to the wonderful hotel and tram
Khalid is the best and made our stay here absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! His service was 5 star and he made our beach days extremely pleasant and easy. All the staff at Waldorf Astoria went above and beyond to make our trip special and memorable.
We’ve visited this hotel on a number of occasions over the years and it’s been our ‘go to’ hotel when we just want to relax by the pool away from the stresses of everyday life. It’s situated at the far end of The Palm some way away from everything.
Whilst it’s been open since 2014 it maintains its luxury offering well and we felt both the communal areas and the rooms were presented to 5* standards. Service levels are high throughout.
The hotel has a beach, an adults pool and a large family pool. Plenty of opportunity for all to enjoy their day.
The buffet restaurant offers an extensive variety of options and the two other main restaurants in the evening, Yu and Social, are superb in their offerings. We particularly enjoyed Yu which we visited twice. Sunil and Grace served us on each occasion and delighted us with their superbly friendly customer service skills. Thank you to you both and all your colleagues.
Pre and post evening meal there’s little option to gather and socialize. Peacock Alley maybe, but we would normally head to a hotel bar for a pre dinner drink and maybe also post meal. The hotel has a huge bar which would be ideal for this but it’s a smoking bar! Just seems odd to us in the modern era, particularly in a family friendly hotel. I’d respectfully suggest the hotel is missing a trick here - the very large bar was nearly empty most nights other than a couple of smokers puffing away. We certainly avoided it - as it seems did most other guests.
That aside, when we next head to Dubai it’s likely the relaxation part of our trip will be based at the Waldorf.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service provided by Akram, Hanna, and Rachel in the Gaming Room and Kids Club. They were incredibly engaging, caring, and energetic, making every visit enjoyable and ensuring that all guests felt welcome and included. Their dedication and enthusiasm truly stood out.
A special thank you also goes to Abhi for his exceptional service. He was always friendly, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. His professionalism and warm personality made a lasting impression on our family.
The efforts of all four team members greatly enhanced our holiday experience, and they deserve recognition for their hard work and commitment to excellent hospitality.
A Waldorf Astoria experience that failed to meet its promise
As a paying guest, I chose Waldorf Astoria because of the quality, service, and experience promised by the brand. Unfortunately, this property completely failed to meet those expectations.
The room was not properly prepared. The Aesop shampoo bottles were empty, dirty, and appeared to have been refilled with water. The Nespresso machine had no capsules, there was no evening turndown service, and even the corridors had no air conditioning.
The pool facilities were effectively unavailable. There were no sunbeds for hotel guests because they were all occupied by external visitors. It is simply not correct to accept reservations when the property cannot guarantee paying residents access to the facilities included in their stay. If the hotel is operating beyond capacity, it would be more honest to declare it fully booked.
Dinner at the Chinese restaurant was excellent, and the staff were genuinely kind and helpful. The problem is not the staff, but the management, capacity planning, and overall standards of the property.
I paid for the experience promised by the Waldorf Astoria brand—not simply for a room. On this occasion, the hotel completely failed to deliver it.
