I booked a stay at this Sofitel for a family getaway in August 2026, expecting the standard of service and cleanliness associated with the brand. Instead, we were met with a nightmare that ultimately forced us to pack our bags and leave the property entirely.
The disaster began immediately at check-in. Despite arriving exactly on time, we were made to wait a staggering 5 to 6 hours in the lobby because our room was "not ready." When we finally gained access, it became immediately clear that the room had barely been serviced at all.
The overall cleanliness was appalling. The chairs in the room were covered in highly visible stains, and the entire space was permeated by a foul, lingering odor. This was only made worse by the air conditioning unit, which was actively blowing a terrible, stale smell into the room.
However, the absolute worst offense—and a severe health hazard—was the bunk beds intended for my two sons. As you can clearly see in the attached photos, there was active, dark mold growing across the wooden bed frames and spreading onto the mattresses themselves. Expecting guests to put their children to sleep in a spore-infested bed is beyond unacceptable; it is downright negligent.
The staff’s attitude matched the state of the room. Despite seeing plenty of employees wandering around the property, attempting to get anyone to answer the phone at reception or guest services was an exercise in futility. When we finally managed to request something as simple as fresh towels, we waited over an hour. Upon calling room service back to follow up, the representative was exceptionally rude, offering zero apologies and instead aggressively asking me, "What do you want me to do?"
After bringing this catastrophic failure of basic hospitality to their attention, the manager attempted to placate us with a room upgrade. We completely refused. A larger room does not fix a fundamentally broken, filthy hotel with staff who actively disrespect their guests. We left the hotel right then and there.
If you are traveling with your family, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. The structural mold, complete lack of hygiene, and shockingly hostile service make this one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever encountered. Save your money, and more importantly, protect your health.

From the moment we arrived we were treated so well the staff are also polite. I need ro give a special mention to Lei who checked us in finding us a room to check in early with a great view of the Burj Khalifa and sorting us a late check out. The hotel is also in a great position within walking distance of the Dubai mall and the Burj Khalifa and taxis buses and the metro are all outside the hotel. Breakfast caters for everyone even if you fancy curry in a morning. My own go to was the omelette station.
I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I became sick and vomited in the washroom. One of the hotel staff member her name is Aimelyn, when she saw me and she immediately came to help me and even cleaned up the mess afterward. I was truly touched by her patience, kindness, and professionalism. Thank you so much for taking care of me when I wasn’t feeling well. I really appreciate the wonderful hospitality and would definitely recommend this hotel.
