I liked the fastest check in And out , However I got disappointed when I stepped inside the Room and I started smelling humidity and hearing the noise coming from the bar and seeing the room was not 100% clean .I left the hotel as fast as I can .
This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have experienced. We stayed for three days, and unfortunately, the problems started from the moment we checked in.
The biggest issue was the front office service. Zabil ( I Hope name is correct, he is Indian and wearing glass)!, an Indian gentleman working the morning shift at reception, showed very little hospitality and made us feel nothing. His attitude, communication, and approach to guests were not what we expect from a hotel.
I had specifically requested a large bed and a smoking room. During check-in, Zabil told me that the room had a large bed. When I entered the room, I found twin beds instead. When I raised the issue, his solution was simply: “I will combine the beds, sir.” Seriously? If a guest specifically requests a large bed, the correct solution is to provide the requested room type—not simply push two beds together.
During check-in, I also asked the lady at reception for the Wi-Fi password. Zabil suddenly came over and said, “Sir, I told you to wait.” I was simply asking for the Wi-Fi password. There was absolutely no reason to speak to a guest in that tone. Front office staff should know how to communicate respectfully and professionally with guests.
Then came the housekeeping issue. Our room was cleaned on the first day, but on the second day, nobody came to clean the room or provide basic housekeeping service. We stayed for three days. Management should seriously investigate this and check with the housekeeping team how many times room 3303 was actually serviced during our entire stay.
And as if that wasn’t enough, we found cockroaches inside the room. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious questions about the hotel’s cleanliness and hygiene standards.
We also requested some basic plates and cutlery from room service. The response was: “It is chargeable, sir.” Even if there is a legitimate charge for a particular request, the way this was communicated was extremely poor. Guests should never feel like they are being treated as a problem for asking for basic assistance.
Honestly, this hotel needs to seriously review its front office training, housekeeping standards, hygiene, and overall guest service culture.
A hotel stay is supposed to make guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. Unfortunately, I experienced the complete opposite.
Management needs to take these issues seriously and train the front office team—especially in basic hospitality, communication, and guest handling.
After this experience, my decision is very simple:
❌ I will not recommend this hotel. ❌ I will not stay here again. ⭐ 1 star, and only because I cannot give zero.
Very Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend
We stayed at Howard Johnson Hotel in Deira, Dubai, from 28 August to 30 August, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.
When we arrived, our room was not ready even though it was already time for check-in. After finally getting into the room, we called reception to request toothbrushes and slippers. It took almost one hour for them to deliver these basic amenities, and we had to call a second time. The reception staff were also rude and unhelpful throughout our stay.
Another issue was the security deposit. At check-out, the hotel tried to deduct money for so-called "damages"
. It felt like they were making up charges to keep part of the deposit, which was very frustrating.
The hotel also charges AED 15 per device for internet access, which is unacceptable nowadays. Even though there was a TV in the room, it was of little use because there was no free internet.
The rooms and facilities were only average, but the poor service, hidden costs, and unprofessional staff completely ruined our stay.
Overall, this was a very bad experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

What a shame by night shift reception staff, we just ask her what’s the name of your General Manager or hotel manager, she mentioned as per the policy we can’t disclose the name. It’s really shame.
