We stayed at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana, and once again, they made our stay truly unforgettable. We chose to stay at the hotel to celebrate my birthday, and what could have been a simple celebration turned into a collection of beautiful memories thanks to the amazing team.
From the moment we entered the hotel, we immediately felt welcomed. The bell team and staff were always smiling, friendly, and ready to assist. Even though the hotel was quite busy when we arrived and we had to wait a few minutes for our room to be ready, the staff handled everything professionally and made sure we were comfortable.
What really touched us was the thoughtful birthday surprise. The hotel sent a birthday cake for me and sweets for my daughter, and seeing how happy she was made the celebration even more special. These little gestures may seem simple, but they truly make a big difference and show how much the hotel values its guests.
We were also pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary drinks for the whole family while waiting. I honestly didn't expect it, and it was such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel even more appreciated.
A special mention to Rhollie from the Bell Desk and Julie from the Front Office, who made our check-in smooth, welcoming, and stress-free. Their professionalism and warm attitude really stood out.
We would also like to thank Riza and Adeel from Horizon, Ohid from Recreation, and Jethro from the Gym for their excellent service and for making our stay even more enjoyable.
What we love most about Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana is that the service feels genuine. It's not just about the beautiful hotel or the facilities it's the people who make the experience special. Every interaction made us feel valued and well taken care of.

After a very bad start - arriving at 2am after a very long flight and being made to wait unnecessarily we ended up having a lovely stay at this hotel. I found the front desk staff at check in to be very inconsiderate and non empathetic towards us. A few days later a guest relations staff member also spoke to us regarding our concerns at check in. It felt like she was only giving us lip service and not ACTUALLY addressing our concerns. It wasn't until we spoke to Mr Ahmed Hassan, Assistant Director of Front Office that our concerns were actually heard. He took time to sit with us and listen. His attentive nature and aim to keep us happy was one of the things that made our stay very pleasant. The restaurant staff were amazing at the hotel. Mr Adeel & Mr Rami were very attentive and took time to speak to guests. Both chef Umesh & Mahesh were kindly made my husband paratha for breakfast each day as well as a delicious butter chicken one evening. Our waiter Yasin was one of the friendliest we have encountered. Good and drinks at the restaurant were delicious (we stayed half board). Views from our hotel room were amazing. The Emirates palace hotel on one side & Qasar Al Watan on the other. The pool & beach area were large with lifeguards. Plenty of sunbeds and food huts with snacks/meals to purchase. After an unpleasant start we ended up having a lovely stay. Would we return - yes we definitely would.
Staff very friendly and welcoming we had dinner and Ciara she was so friendly and always smiling also chef Sumedha he came to our table felt the love from this restaurant for breakfast fast chef Jeremy also so sweet and went extra mile for us in total all staff at the restaurant are so welcoming not forgetting the hostess Martha really enjoyed will definitely come back
We had a wonderful experience at the hotel, and a big thank you to the receptionist INTISSAR who assisted us. She was extremely professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. Her warm smile and excellent service made us feel truly valued and well taken care of. She is a great asset to the hotel, and we really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. Highly recommended!
Disappointing — not suitable for anyone, especially those with access needs
I am writing this review to share my honest experience, as I feel others need to know what to expect here.
Cleanliness — far below standard The room was not properly cleaned. Surfaces had dust and marks that had clearly not been wiped away. The bedding was not changed — I found hair and stains that were not mine, and the sheets felt stale and unwashed. It was uncomfortable and worrying to see this standard in a hotel.
Staff — rude, unhelpful, and dismissive The biggest problem was the attitude of most of the staff. They were unfriendly, dismissive, and downright rude. When I explained I have access needs and asked for simple help or understanding, I was met with impatience, eye-rolling, and in some cases, ignored completely. It felt as though they did not want to be bothered, and made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a guest. There was no kindness, no willingness to assist — just coldness and hostility.
Would I recommend? No. The lack of basic cleanliness is bad enough, but the way I was treated — especially as someone with a disability — was truly upsetting. Everyone deserves respect when travelling, and here that was completely missing. I left feeling undervalued and unwelcome.
I hope management will address both the cleaning standards and the way guests are treated — everyone deserves better than this.
