My husband and I, with the it two teenage children stayed at Hilton Salalah for five on our trip to Oman. We had hired a car out and there was free parking. Check in was quick and easy and reception staff tried very hard to give me an upgrade. I was upgraded to a sea view room.
Our room had two queen beds and we were given a roll out bed free of charge. Despite my reservations of sharing with my children, there was ample space. There was an issue with the first room and within 24 hours, the hotel had sourced a new like for like room for us.
The bathrooms look as though they had been recently renovated and the shower was possibly the best shower we have experienced at a hotel. The hotel provides an iron and ironing board. Breakfast was not included for us but I was told that they could include it for 7OMR per person per day.
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.
One thing that’s very good about this hotel is that they have a WhatsApp service through which you can communicate with the reception team. One day I had left the laundry out on the balcony and I was able to message and ask someone to bring it inside. One night the room next to us had the tv volume set to extremely high. As soon as I’d messaged, they dealt with it straightaway.
The hotel is in a good location. About 20 minutes from the airport at peak times. It is also close to malls and other sights.
Staff are lovely and do go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. We really did enjoy ourselves here.
It was great experienced staying in the hotel especialy the in breakfast buffet we commend the good service of Imelda Anthony and Karen.
⚠️ BED BUGS — AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We stayed at Hilton Salalah Oman for just 5 days and brought bed bugs home with us. We were bitten and suffered severe itching, and the infestation spread to our home. In 30 years of traveling, we have never experienced anything like this. Check your room carefully with a flashlight immediately upon arrival for signs of bed bugs. This is a serious health and hygiene issue and can become a nightmare long after you leave the hotel. Add to this horrible food and boring hotel with zero indoor activity.
I want to thank you Anthony for being so attentive. And other staffs for having a great service.Every dish is full of flavor.
10/10 and more
I arrived at Hilton Salalah in very difficult personal circumstances. Around a day and a half before leaving Prague, I had to put my beloved cat Witchy to sleep after almost 18 years together. The trip had been planned long before, and by the time I reached Salalah close to midnight on 12 August, I was emotionally exhausted.
This was my second visit to Oman this year, after Muscat in February, and I had specifically chosen Salalah in August because I wanted to experience the Khareef season.
What I did not expect was just how kind and supportive the Hilton Salalah team would be.
From the beginning, the staff made a real effort to help me feel safe, comfortable and at home. Their smiles, patience and warmth genuinely helped during a very difficult time.
Special thanks to Joanna, Manu, Haseeb, Al Amin, Majbal, Ali, and all the other staff members whose names I unfortunately do not remember. Every one of them contributed in some way to making my stay better.
The room was excellent — spacious, comfortable, very well cleaned and maintained. Breakfast was great, and because the hotel was relatively quiet, the peaceful atmosphere was exactly what I needed.
I swim regularly, so I really appreciated the large swimming pool, and I also used the gym during my stay. I would also highly recommend the Thai massage — the ladies were fantastic.
The reception also recommended a local guide, Mohammed, who was absolutely excellent and helped make my experience of Salalah even more special.
A small tip for visitors during Khareef: come prepared for insects and mosquitoes, especially if you are sensitive or allergic. Bring repellent, creams and any medication you normally use. For me, this was probably the only real challenge of the season. On the other hand, the air during Khareef felt incredibly fresh and almost therapeutic.
There were a few minor hiccups during the stay, but what impressed me was how professionally and kindly they were handled. I also really appreciated the complimentary late checkout.
This trip turned out completely differently from what I had imagined, but in the end Hilton Salalah gave me exactly what I needed: peace, space, kindness and a place to slowly clear my head.
I am deeply grateful and would absolutely stay here again.
Highly recommended.
