Clean hotel and the water park is amazing with 5 pools we really enjoy
I had a fantastic stay at Barceló Hotel. The service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive. A special thank you to AbdulRahim Al Balushi for his exceptional hospitality. He went above and beyond to ensure that I felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout my stay. His kindness and professionalism truly stood out. I highly recommend Barceló Hotel!

This is a bit of a rant but important information especially if you are planning on coming all inclusive. We are grateful for the room upgrade and the reception staff are very. We have been to this hotel many times before and can honestly say it’s not what it once was. We are here at the moment as an all inclusive guest and are not impressed with all the changes, the hotel is only veered up for the locals at weekends and afternoons so as a result the all inclusive guest are penalised. As an all inclusive guest we are not able to get a drink by the pool, not even a soft drink as it only opens at weekends and after 4 which is when we would be getting ready to leave the pool. We did ask about this when we arrived and were told the pool bar opened at 10am but it never did, it was very hit and miss so as an all inclusive guests you can’t even get a cold bottle of water before midday, in our view this is not acceptable when you pay a hefty premium for the benefit, if the hotel chain can not provide the service then do not offer it. You can not get coffee after breakfast which again is very disappointing especially when you pay so much extra, the difference between half board and all inclusive is a lot and 100% not worth is as you can’t get drinks or coffee. We have been here for 5 nights so far and have only had shower gel once, despite asking for it everyday we have been told we don’t have any, so no, shower gel, conditioner or body lotion only shampoo, we expect much more from a 4* hotel. After asking again today we were told there should be a dispenser in the shower but we do t have one and it’s taken 5 days of asking to be told this. There is a coffee machine in the room but never any coffee pods, so why bother even putting it in the room If you’re just told”we do t have any” every time you ask, I did ask one man yesterday who actually got me 2 pods but everyone else has said no, it seems like this is a money saving exercise. When we were here last May we asked for a coffee and were given a cup of hot water and a jor of coffee on the table!! We did send this on the business chat but no one replied. Also in May we visited the Italian restaurant and as an all inclusive guest you get a very limited menu which doesn’t reflect the nightly premium you pay and when we asked for some break we were told no, we have never experienced anything like this before so this time we haven’t even bother to book the restaurant. Overall we do like the hotel which is why we have returned so many times but this time it really seems like the hotel is just set up for locals and no one else. I wonder what Barcelo as a chain would think of this?? Most of the staff are really good and do what they can to help but at the end of the day they are just doing what they are told. So a very big thank you to all the staff and chefs who do their best but there is much room for improvement. We are yet to decide if we will return, we like it because it’s so nice and quiet but the all inclusive is just not good enough compared to what you would get in a lower standard hotel. But I would again like to thank all the staff and chefs that work hard, but the changes we have seen over the years have not been for the tourism market only the locals which as a hotel chain we find a bit strange .
