Disappointing Experience at Citrus Waskaduwa
Unfortunately, my recent experience at Citrus Waskaduwa was not up to the standard I expected from a five-star hotel.
The food quality was disappointing, and some of the chicken served was not of acceptable quality. The meals overall did not meet the standard expected from a hotel of this category.
Another major disappointment was the lack of proper photographs and clear location information for some of the facilities and areas of the hotel. This made it difficult to have a clear idea of what to expect before and during the stay.
Considering the reputation and five-star positioning of Citrus Waskaduwa, I expected much better food quality, presentation, and overall experience. I hope the management will take these concerns seriously and improve the standards, particularly in the food and restaurant areas.
Overall, not a satisfactory experience and not what I expected from Citrus Waskaduwa.

Hotel Service Average
We stayed at the hotel on 22 August 2026 as a family, with our 9-month-old baby and 5-year-old child.
First of all, the welcome and overall hospitality were very good. Our room was good and the dinner was delicious, with excellent service. The staff service during dinner was truly superb. 👍
However, there were some areas that could be improved.
We were allocated Room No. 173, which was one of the rooms furthest from the restaurant. Since we were travelling with a small baby, it was quite difficult to walk that distance several times. It would be much better if families with babies or young children could be given rooms closer to the restaurant.
The biggest issue was breakfast service. Our table was not properly arranged, and while we were carrying the baby, the staff did not seem to notice or offer assistance. We had to request a baby chair ourselves. There were also not enough staff covering our area, so we had to repeatedly ask for basic things such as water and the hand-wash bowl.
When guests pay for a hotel stay, they expect comfort and attentive service without having to repeatedly ask for every small thing.
The room itself was good, but unfortunately it felt older than we expected, especially the bathroom. Considering the amount we paid, I personally did not feel fully satisfied with the overall experience.
I am sharing this feedback respectfully, not to criticize, but because the hotel has good potential. ❤️ I hope the management will look into these shortcomings and improve the service, especially during breakfast.
Overall: Good food, great dinner service and a warm welcome, but breakfast service and room allocation for families with small children need improvement.
