Club Hotel Dolphin

We have jus arrived home from a 2 week stay sri lanka is beautiful club hotel dophin was spotless and staff so friendly. The all inclusive package was not great the drinks were all flat.you had to pay for resturants and the beach bbq the buffet had something for everybody you could ask they would make you chips some off the currys were very hot.never experienced a all inclusive holiday were you had to pay for anything which let it down for us.we had to order from pizza hut twice and visit the restaurant 2 mins down the road. I would recommend if you was thinking on doing the all inclusive package really look into it. The trips were amazing which we did with see lanka tours ask for Nipon you will find him near the beach

A really lovely hotel. The rooms were spacious and well cleaned. The food was good but as you expect from an all inclusive the same by the end of the second week.same people have complained about the lack of choice for an all inclusive for drinks but I’m sure everyone can find something. There was an alternative food place at lunchtime (by the quiet pool) which was fine and very western and we used it several times but very limited - it could have done with another 2 to 4 things on the menu. There was also another restaurant but it never had a menu or a price list. Again I think they are missing an opportunity with this. The pool was great never crowded and had a variety of depths to suit everyone. The pool people were very friendly. All the bar staff, restaurant staff, garden staff, reception staff and cleaners were polite, helpful and friendly. We made use of the tennis courts and gym, but there were other sports things there. The only thing that let them down was the animation team. There is a board that tells you what is on. We are one of those families that likes aqua aerobics we went at the time it said but nothing. Asked that day and was told where to go for the following day, which we did again we waited for 15 / 20 minutes but nothing. Tried again on third day - nothing. I felt the team did the same few things everyday - shuttle board, darts, croquet, mini golf - I might have missed a couple of things out. But it was very basic. Also the evening entertainment was limited as there wasn’t many people in the team so they couldn’t do much. It wasn’t well advertised and wasnt in a good location as it wasn’t near the restaurant or bar so didn’t get passing people. But it wasn’t a problem as it was such a pretty and friendly hotel and we loved our time there. Highly recommended.

The ocean / beach area is not that great and the sea was very rough, The hotel overall is fine. Very attentive and helpful staff . Food was a mixed bag, somedays excellent and some below par. Hotel grounds are extensive with the quiet pool being our favored location. Some of the bungalows looked unsightly but understand they are being renovated. We had a second floor room with good views but unfortunately no lift. Rooms were cleaned at a high standard and all gadgets worked Transport to nearest town ( Negombo) was difficult to arrange and a few tuktuks outside but appeared to have an arranged/fixed high price and interested in tours
