Amagi Aria

Our stay at Amagi Aria was genuinely one of those experiences where the hospitality begins the moment you arrive — and continues right through until you leave.

The experience started the moment we stopped our vehicle. The team was attentive, immediately assisted us with our luggage, and were exceptionally polite and welcoming. What stood out even more was how naturally warm and friendly everyone was towards our four-year-old. That small gesture made a big difference.

Check-in was seamless and efficient. A special mention must go to Malika and the entire Front Office team. Within just 10 minutes of arriving and completing the formalities, we were escorted to our room.

We stayed in a Superior Lagoon View Room, which was spacious, immaculately clean and, most importantly, incredibly welcoming. We had requested a cot, which had already been arranged. The Housekeeping team also clearly anticipated our needs as a family travelling with a young child. There was plenty of additional drinking water in the room, along with extra small towels for our little one. These may seem like small details, but they demonstrate an attentiveness that makes a stay feel genuinely thoughtful.

The bedding was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom was very well stocked with amenities. Often, hotels keep certain amenities available only upon request, but at Amagi Aria, practically everything we could have needed was already there.

The balcony was another highlight, offering beautiful views over the lagoon. For fellow AvGeeks, it is also a fantastic spot for plane spotting. You can watch aircraft departures from here, which added a rather enjoyable little bonus to the stay.

And then, onto the food!

The dining experience was excellent. There was a decent variety on offer, the flavours were spot-on, and the overall quality of the food was fantastic. The bakery selection deserves a special mention. Bakery items can be surprisingly difficult to get right, but the offerings here were genuinely brilliant — a testament to the skill and attention to detail of the culinary team.

The entire F&B team was warm, welcoming and incredibly friendly. Once again, they went out of their way to ensure that our little one was comfortable and looked after. What impressed us particularly was that both the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef took the time to speak with us personally and assured us that they were more than happy to accommodate any special requests, particularly for our child.

That level of personal attention is what truly sets a property apart.

Overall, our experience at Amagi Aria was fantastic. From the Front Office and Housekeeping teams to the F&B and culinary teams, everyone demonstrated what genuine hospitality should look and feel like.

Kudos to the entire Amagi Aria team. You have created an experience that feels warm, personal and authentic — and that is not something every hotel manages to achieve.

Some of the larger, mainstream hospitality establishments could certainly learn a thing or two from the team at Amagi Aria.

Excellent location. Calm and quiet atmosphere. Clean and tidy rooms. Excellent room service. I highly recommend Amagi Aria for a peaceful getaway to Negombo.
