The Mermaid Hotel and Club is at Kalutara, about 25 miles south of Colombo and overlooks a stretch of beautiful beach. A refurbishment has enhanced the spa and lounge areas and provided a completely new main restaurant. The hotel is set in 3.2 acres of coconut palms and has tranquil views of the beach.
Amazing Location Relaxing Atmosphere Great sized Rooms Great Value Spotlessly Clean Noise level was fine. Service was outstanding, such a friendly happy team. A special shout out to the restaurant team, beautiful food and fantastic service especially Ishan, Akila, Gimhani, Sujith cheeky, Sudesh and Chamidu.
All 6 of the ladies on our Myholiday2 tour very much enjoyed the beautiful spa area. Saman was my therapist he was amazing. Do yourself a favour and try the traditional Sr Lankan massage and the green tea facial. OMG it was next level and I went for 2.5 hrs. I floated out of there soo relaxed!!
Amenities were lovely - cocktails by the pool were also a highlight . We have already told our friends just how good our stay at Mermaid Hotel and club. Sunset are breathtaking 😍
Our stay at Mermaid hotel & club was truly amazing. We were a large crowd of over 20 pax and booked 8 rooms for 1 night stay at this hotel situated in Waskaduwa. After contacting Mr. Thushara for reservations, he made the arrangements and helped me with all my queries. Though we had several modifications to our booking, all requests were accommodated seamlessly and I was assured to have an enjoyable stay. Upon arrival the front desk staff was very supportive and friendly and helped us in all our needs. Chamodhya and the other girl (Dinushika I think her name was) managed the front desk exceptionally. I was surprised to see that the hotel was maintained well. There are 2 swimming pools, huge lawn facing the beach, separate areas for cricket, badminton games and much more space which were all clean and looked after. Highlight of the stay was their delicious food. We had buffet for FB meal and the food items were scrumptious. They had a good spread for the international buffet and have to say kudos to the chef and his team for satisfying our tummies. Overall we had a fantastic stay and it was worth it. The rooms were clean and had all essential amenities. One thing to improve is the air-conditioning which was a bit noisy and I think it's a centralized ac. However everything else overweighted the cons. Thank you for the whole team at Mermaid club & hotel for the amazing service. Thank you Thushara, Ruwan, front desk staff, Pradeep and the rest of the staff. Keep up the good work. Hope to be back again someday.
Great atmosphere and friendly supportive staff. Like the calming environment, really appreciate the book corner and nice food. Had a great experience.
We had a dought when we booked the hotel as we have bot heard about this hotel.vbut after vsiting this hotel can say we all had a great time. Food was good rooms were cleaned sraff was friendly. Kids had lot of activities. Overall had a good time
We had an exceptional experience from the very beginning. We received such a warm welcome on arrival and were promptly escorted to our rooms. The only minor inconvenience was the number of steps and the absence of a lift. However, we were informed that, as it is an older building, they are currently working on improving this.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner — honestly, it was one of the best dinners we’ve had! The barbecue was absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly, approachable and attentive, and the food was served quickly and efficiently.
The following morning, breakfast was also served very efficiently, and everything was cleared away promptly and neatly.
We then explored the sports area, which was fantastic, especially for families with children. There were so many activities available, including a gym, table tennis, darts, volleyball, badminton and many other sporting activities. Finally, we headed to the pool, which was the perfect way to finish our stay. Pool towels were provided as requested, and the staff were extremely helpful throughout.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service, food, facilities and friendly staff made our stay truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who hasn’t experienced it before. Don’t hesitate to give it a try — you won’t be disappointed!
