Shangri-La Knows How to Do Sunday Brunch
We really enjoyed the Sunday Brunch at Shangri-La Colombo! There was such a great variety of food, and some of our favourites were the sushi selection, the laksa bar, and the seafood Thermidor. I especially loved the dessert selection — there were so many options, and everything was beautifully presented. The overall ambiance was lovely as well and made for a really enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
A special shoutout to Sadakelum, who took fantastic care of us throughout our brunch. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Great service always makes such a difference, and he definitely added to our experience!
My only small criticism would be the unlimited mocktail package. There were only two mocktails to choose from, which seems quite limited for something advertised as unlimited. It would be great to see a few more options included.
Aside from that, we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend the Sunday Brunch at Shangri-La Colombo. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, and excellent service!

Great location - excellent rooms/service
We spent a week at the Shangri-La, after holidaying in the Maldives. We picked the Shangri-La, because of its location, opposite Galle Face Green & the ocean, walking distance to Colombo Fort, and easy access to the adjoining One Galle Face shopping mall.
As a Shangri-La Circle member, we went with a Horizon Club ocean view room. When we arrived the front counter staff took us directly to our room to complete our booking process. They were even apologetic for a 5-minute delay whilst the served customers ahead of us. The room was clean, modern, spacious and the king size bed was so comfortable, with great views out over the ocean. The bathroom was equally spacious, with a walk-in rainfall shower, separate deep-soaking bathtub and selection of Spa Ceylon toiletries (my wife's favourite).
The Horizon Club lounge was very relaxing and the staff so hospitable. I felt for them as some of the small groups were very demanding and at times demeaning (which is uncalled for), particularly early in the afternoon/evening, when they were serving drinks/canapes. The commanding views from the 32rd floor over the ocean and harbour were amazing.
Most mornings we had breakfast at the club lounge, as it was quieter and less hectic than then Central restaurant. They had a small range of custom meals, but they were very nice choices/cooked to order.
The concierge was extremely helpful in booking our transport. Though you can easily catch a tuktuk at the entrance to the shopping mall.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend it to anyone looking at staying in Colombo.
