The food was also very nice, and the overall hospitality made me feel good. I stayed for more than four days and truly enjoyed my time here.

We recently stayed at the iconic Galle Face Hotel in Colombo for our final night, and it completely surpassed every single expectation we had. From the moment you arrive, you are enveloped in timeless elegance. The building itself is a magnificent, historic colonial landmark—absolute perfection if you love authentic architecture and old-world charm that is genuinely delightful to experience. The property is breathtaking: massive, beautifully appointed rooms, an exceptionally grand and impressive foyer, and stunning, picturesque scenery everywhere you look. My 74-year-old mom absolutely fell in love with it. Location-wise, it couldn't be more impeccable. Situated right on Galle Face Green, the proximity to the water, breathtaking ocean views, and the easy indoor/outdoor reach to everything—including the One Galle Face Mall—made our stay effortless. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is their extraordinary commitment to guests. The attention to detail and the way they handled all of our special requests completely blew us away, far exceeding any other hotel we stayed at during our trip. Above all, the service from every single member of the staff was faultless. A special and heartfelt thank you to the manager, Ms. Peiris, who went completely out of her way to look after us and provide absolutely fabulous local recommendations. If you are looking for the absolute best heritage experience in Colombo, this is unquestionably one of the finest. We cannot wait to return!
A lovely 2 night stay at this beautiful and historic hotel. The check-in could be smoother but check-out was great. The welcome however was warm and genuine.
The public areas are beautiful and with the property touching the ocean and Galle Face Green, it is magical. The location is great with easy walking to shopping centres sand restaurant's.
The bedrooms are beautiful, retaining their heritage character. The shower in my room was outstanding with great pressure and good hot water temperature. The bed was very comfortable. The view out over the ocean was magical. Thank you to the room attendant who ensured it was kept spotless and well stocked with water and amenities.
The breakfast on the veranda was delicious, with lots of choices from the buffet. The service staff were fantastic.

We had an exceptional stay at Galle Face Hotel. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was plentiful and delicious! The tour of the hotel is a must do to learn about its historic past. Next time we visit Colombo, we will definitely rebook at Galle Face Hotel!
First time in Colombo, a wonderful experience. All staff we came into contact with were highly professional and especially Kaushika at the travellers bar. The rooms were well appointed snd reflect the wonderful hotel heritage. Buffet breakfast was extensive and the best hopper I have tasted in Sri Lanka. Snacks and cold beer on the verandah was excellent. 1874 bar had a wonderfull atmosphere. I would highly recommend this hotel.
