This really is a five star haven.

My husband and I stayed at the Taj Bentota for two weeks to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Until we returned home, I would have had no hesitation in giving this hotel a glowing 5-star review.
There was so much to love about our stay. The hotel is beautifully maintained, the grounds are immaculate, and the pool was always spotless, clearly receiving attentive care every day. Our room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated, making it a pleasure to return to after a day spent relaxing and enjoying the resort.
The food was outstanding, with some of the best curries we have ever tasted, and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. A special thank you to Sam, Asiri and Kannangara, who went above and beyond to make our anniversary celebration so memorable. Their kindness, professionalism and genuine care for guests are a credit to the hotel.
Unfortunately, what should have been a perfect holiday was overshadowed by a very distressing discovery. After arriving home and unpacking, I realised that three personal items were missing. One of these was my platinum solitaire engagement ring. Whilst the other missing items were valuable and can be replaced, my engagement ring is irreplaceable due to its immense sentimental value.
The greatest upset is not simply the loss of these belongings, but the feeling that someone may have taken them from our room. It has left me feeling deeply violated and has sadly tarnished what should have been a special holiday filled with wonderful memories.
I sincerely hope the hotel takes this matter seriously and carries out a thorough investigation, as no guest should return home from a dream holiday with concerns about the safety of their personal possessions.
Had it not been for this incident, this would undoubtedly have been a 5-star review. The staff, food, facilities and location were all exceptional. However, the loss of my belongings, particularly my engagement ring, has left me heartbroken and deeply disappointed.
I would strongly encourage future guests to ensure that any valuable or sentimental items are kept securely in the room safe. While I hope this was an isolated incident, I would hate for anyone else to experience the distress that this has caused following what was otherwise a wonderful stay.

We arrived at the Taj Bentota for the last part of our tour of Sri Lanka and what a fantastic stay we had. The location was amazing literally right on the Indian Ocean! Our room was on the 6th floor and we had stunning ocean views! Our room was looked after by Sachith who did the most amazing job and we loved his towel art! We had such a relaxing time the hotel is set in beautiful grounds with easy access to the fabulous beach. The staff were delightful and the food was amazing. Our stay was made special by the attentiveness of the staff but would particularly like to thank restaurant staff Asiri (especially for his sporting knowledge), Kannangara (barmy army), Sisil and Sam. We really didn’t want to leave and would love to return one day! You made our stay very special thank you so much. Ayubowan
