Centara Ceysands Resort and Spa

If you’re looking for a place where the biggest decision of the day is “pool or bar this is it.... because you can do both at the same time!
NH Bentota Ceysands Resort has mastered the art of making you forget what day it is. Arriving by boat is a fantastic touch—it feels like you’re heading to a secret island hideaway rather than just checking into a hotel. The staff were friendly and hospitable and somehow they appeared whenever we needed something but were never intrusive. The food was great , with plenty of variety. We did however experience on more than one occasion ……sorry, we have run out !!
The location is brilliant, with the river on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. It’s one of those rare places where you can watch the sunrise, enjoy the beach, relax by the pool, and still find time for another cocktail before dinner. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and perfect for falling asleep to the sound of the waves. The beach is clean and water wonderfully warm. Be careful though. There are a lot of dangerous currents. Loved the wildlife that we experienced in the resort. Watching the Palm squirrels running up and down trees, friendly Gheckos chatting away in our room in the evening, the monitors sunning themselves on footpaths, the fish in the ponds and the peacock on display out the front of an evening. A wonderful resort with friendly people, great food, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere. We’d happily return—and next time we’ll bring clothes with an elastic waistband!

Very clean and welcoming resort. Staff were fantastic with a special shout out to Kasun Chanura who was a welcome housekeeper who went out of his way for us and my sick daughter especially.
