A House with Heritage, Storied & Distinctive; Mango House is nestled deep in the South of Mahé. Directly standing on the oceanfront with direct access to Anse Aux Poules Bleues “Aquarium of wonders”. Mango House is a 30-40 minutes distance by car to and from the Seychelles International Airport and approximately 60 minutes from Victoria. A contemporary and intimate retreat, providing the backdrop to multilayered experiences, creative ingenuity, and expansive views enveloped in the rugged nature of the Seychelles.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Our stay at Mango House was exceptional. There are many l luxury options in Mahe but Mango House is smaller and feels personal. Beautiful property and great staff!
The hotel in general was wonderful, clean. We stayed in the ocean house room and we were in was on the ocean and had a large bathroom and deck with a pool.
The “Breakfast team” staff were amazing and attentive. Not only did they give amazing service but they also helped with things to do on the island of Mahe. Anna, Liza, Davido, Marie-Ella, Stephanetta, Emma, Nathalie, and Jeet. The great thing about breakfast is included in our stay and was substantial and you can order cooked items. Every item we had was tasty.
At the beach bar, Thomas and Samia were so pleasant and made good drinks. They were even kind enough to help me carry them to my room when I needed it.
Chef Mohammed, the executive chef, was also very attentive. We did not meet his team in the back but the meals they made were wonderful. All meals that we had at the Mango House were delicious. We ate breakfast every day (and one day they packed a breakfast as we were leaving early on a day trip), and had dinner at Japanese and Italian. The service at the restaurants was great!
Also want to recognize housekeeping. I was not able to get all the names but Monette but the room was always tended to and cleaned when needed.
Mango house was the most exceptional spot on our honeymoon! It is a smaller hotel and the staff are so attentive, know your name and make you feel as though you are the only ones there. The rooms were very spacious, super clean and well ventilated AC in the heat of the Seychelles. The restaurants, though pricey, were fantastic. Chef Mohammed and his staff are always there to take care of you and all requests you may have. We recommend getting the breakfast included as they have lots of choices to keep you full for the majority of your day. This hotel is exceptional and we recommend it to anyone seeking a personal, boutique like experience.
Unfortunately, my stay at Mango House has started with a level of disappointment I did not expect from a property of this category, particularly as a Hilton Honors Diamond member.
We arrived late at night, and before arriving I contacted the hotel several times to make it very clear that having a beautiful sea view was important to me. I am fully aware that a complimentary upgrade is never guaranteed. For that reason, I deliberately booked and paid for a King Premium Room with Ocean View. I wanted to make sure that, even without an upgrade, I would have the room and view I had paid for.
The next morning, I opened the curtains and was shocked to see a large shed/new structure directly obstructing the view, together with a coconut tree blocking much of the remaining sea view.
This is not what I expected when booking and paying for a Premium Ocean View room.
I immediately raised the issue with the hotel. I was told that the hotel was fully booked and therefore there was nothing they could do. However, this explanation was particularly frustrating because I was able to check availability myself and could see that rooms were still available to book.
But what happened next was even more disappointing.
The hotel offered me the possibility of moving to a standard room.
Let that sink in: I paid for a Premium Ocean View room, and instead of an upgrade, I was offered a downgrade to a standard room.
I don’t expect a complimentary upgrade simply because I am a Diamond member. What I do expect is to receive the room category I paid for and for the hotel to make a genuine effort to resolve a problem when the room does not meet reasonable expectations.
And unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there.
I have already been bitten by mosquitoes, so I asked the hotel if they had mosquito repellent or one of those plug-in mosquito devices that releases a repellent/fume to help reduce mosquito bites. I was told that they didn’t have anything available and that I could buy a repellent the next day when the shop is open. So now I have many bites on my leg.
For a resort in Seychelles, where mosquitoes are hardly an unexpected issue, I found this surprisingly basic and disappointing.
What makes the situation particularly frustrating is that I still have four more nights remaining. Instead of arriving at a beautiful luxury resort and looking forward to relaxing, I am already wondering what the rest of the stay will be like.
Mango House may have a beautiful location, but a beautiful location alone isn’t enough. Communication, room allocation, guest expectations and basic comfort matter too.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and actually finds a solution rather than simply explaining why nothing can be done.
I came to Mango House expecting a memorable Seychelles experience. So far, unfortunately, the experience has been memorable for all the wrong reasons.
I still have four nights left, so I’m hoping the hotel has the opportunity to turn things around and change my first impression. I’ll see how the rest of the stay goes and update this review based on how the situation is handled. Hopefully, there will be a much more positive story to tell by the end of my stay.
My wife and me were staying at Mango House, Mahé, for 5 nights during our travel around 3 islands. It was our final stay to keep it comfortable as the International Airport is on Mahé island. First of all we like to point out that Mango House is not a Beach Hotel. If you expect to have a nice sandy beach to walk in you are wrong to try this hotel. There is a really small sandy bay but it will be flodded during high tide and the setting is framed by lots of coral. If you like to avoid scratches you need to use the three pools or you leave the hotel to an outside beach. But, the Hotel itself is very nice and stylish built up on a small rock/hill surrounded by amazing gardens. About 40 rooms make it very intimate. There is just one restaurant outside the hotel to be reached by feet in 5 minutes. If you like to try different restaurants you need to order a transport.

Finally we do not recommend this Hotel. The reasons are mentioned above and we will go to South East Asia again next time to receive a better experience for half the money.

incredible experience at Mango House. it is literally paradise!! all the team are so professional, from the reception team to the teams in the restaurants to all the teams maintaining the gorgeous grounds. everybody goes above and beyond to make sure that you have a memorable stay. A special shout out to Anna, Nathalia and Emma who were always so warm and friendly but If i could name every single member of staff I would because everyone works so hard and deserves to be recognised. if you get the chance to visit mango House, you absolutely should it was one of the most relaxing and gorgeous holidays.
