Nestled in a 3-kilometre beach of the finest coral sand, surrounded by tropical palm trees and the warm Indian Ocean, the hotel is situated 5 km from Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles. Beau Vallon Bay is the most popular beach area on the main island of Mahé. The hotel is 15 km away from the international airport. It has 130 lift accessible guestrooms, the majority of which feature lovely sea views. Coral strand - where do I start. The front desk staff were all very accommodating in meeting all our needs and requests , especially Sanjay, Shihan, Mica and Zoya. Lindly was always greeting us with a beautiful laugh. At the bar, Arul was an outstanding bartender making great aperols and pina coladas. The table, bar, and pool service that Lawrence, Dev, Neel, Christy, Danushka, and Tharadhu provided was outstanding and unmatched. The food was very tasty and authentically made. Lastly, housekeeping left us a wonderful surprise the day of our anniversary- two swans on our bed and always make sure that our room was very clean. Overall - an incredible stay! All the staff make you feel like family and you can genuinely tell that everyone loves their job!!!
The saying ‘you get what you pay for’ certainly does not apply to the Coral Strand Hotel.
The hotel and the staff most definitely exceeded my expectations. Just a brief overview of the rooms - like the rest of the hotel they are spotless. Credit goes to the housekeeping staff on doing such a great job. The rooms themselves are so much better than I expected. They have the standard facilities you might expect like tea and coffee facilities and daily complimentary water. However, they have been kept so well they look as if they were just furnished yesterday. The bathroom has a good rainforest shower, the bedroom has some very cool mirrors (difficult to explain but they’re different) and the balcony is a great bonus. I was lucky to have one with a fantastic view of the pool and the sea. In fact, it was so nice sitting there I was tempted not to leave and explore the islands.
However, the piece de resistance is the incredible staff! I have only been here two days so far and everyone has been so friendly.
They made the check-in so easy. I arrived early after a long overnight flight and was beaten to reception by a large group who were also checking in. I thought I was going to be waiting around for ages but that was not the case. First, my luggage was taken and kept aside so I could relax on one of the sofas. Then, a gentleman came over and asked me for my passport so he could start the check-in process. I was then given a welcome drink and before I even finished they had completed the check-in for the group ahead of me and were ready to complete my check-in. I’ve never seen anything so efficient. The gentleman who checked me in (possibly a manager) was brilliant, explained everything very clearly and from then I just knew I was in for a great stay.
I really was impressed by how well organised they are and how kind they were to allow me and several other passengers an early check in. Some hotels are very strict about this and even when they do it might be only and hour or two early - certainly not as early as the Coral Strand.
The bar staff, front of house are all great too but the star of the show has to be Lindy the concierge. Super helpful, always has a smile on her face and nothing is ever a problem.
I have been over the moon with my stay and would unreservedly recommend the Coral Strand Hotel to anyone. The staff are great, the rooms are great and the location is great. You’re on a lovely beach and there’s some nice restaurants and food shacks a stone’s throw away if you want to have a change from one of the hotel’s three restaurants.

We had an absolutely bad vacation in coral strand. Because the rooms were not it. No one did assist us. And im very disappointed of the guest relation and in there way of that they don't have any hospitality how to welcome me as a guest from booking.com. And my attraction by the hotel was simply a disappointment. So I went to the check in by myself. There was a lady who helped me with the check in. She gave me a key to a room I didn't want. It was not a ocean view room. Due to the booking issue I have to say above and unexpected this was a problem for me. I feel so sorry for who ever who booked through booking.com. So I absolutely didnt have my best vacation. So guest relation do your job good next time. And the owner of this hotel needs to talk with the guest relation that are hired to do their job. Because I dont see any good work of these people.
I had a truly wonderful experience at Coral Strand. From the moment of arrival, the atmosphere was calm, peaceful and welcoming, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind.
The cleanliness of the property was excellent, and the facilities were well maintained. The room amenities were fully equipped and thoughtfully arranged. I particularly appreciated the attention given to the tea, coffee and drinking water facilities, which were replenished and attended to promptly whenever required.
The food was excellent, with a good variety and quality that made every meal enjoyable. The restaurant service was also friendly, attentive and professional.
What really made the stay special was the warm and friendly service provided by the staff. I would especially like to commend the following team members for their exceptional service and positive attitude:
Chamara Cooray and Shehan – Front Office, for their highly professionalism, helpfulness and welcoming approach. Chathuranga Danushka – Restaurant Service, for his attentive and friendly service. Tharindu, for his pleasant attitude and excellent support throughout the stay.
Their genuine hospitality and willingness to assist made a noticeable difference to my overall experience.
Overall, Coral Strand is a calm, clean and comfortable place with excellent amenities, good food and genuinely friendly service. The staff deserve special recognition for creating such a welcoming environment.
