- La Pirogue Resort and Spa

Set in a lush oasis of palm trees, La Pirogue looks like a Mauritian fishing village. The distinctive cone-shaped, thatched roofs are clustered around the seashore at the edge of lush vegetation. This isn't a fishing village of course - it's an incredible 4 star hotel - and there's plenty of wonderfully fresh fish on offer in the superb restaurants.
You'll never be short of things to do at La Pirogue. The vast swimming pool is an absolute delight. Impeccably designed and fringed by palms, it is one of the hotel's biggest attractions.
The restaurants are high up that list too. From the beach bar to the main restaurant, the chefs and bartenders at La Pirogue work hard to give you a mouth-watering selection of food and drink. You'll enjoy lots of fresh ingredients and a great range of flavours. (And for even more choice, three additional restaurants are available to guests at the Sugar Beach Hotel.)
La Pirogue is well equipped for sports and fitness fans. Naturally, water sports are popular - and there are lots of opportunities for you to enjoy the wonderfully clean, warm water, whether you're a novice or a pro-scuba diver.
You can enjoy games from mini golf to volleyball - and there's a full fitness centre on site. We also recommend the spa - an essential ingredient of a truly relaxing Mauritius holiday.
One final but very important factor is your room. All Standard Garden View rooms (from August 2017 Garden Bungalows) are at ground level, with terraces leading straight out into the beautiful palm groves. There is full air conditioning and additional amenities include satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer, safe, mini bar and drinks making facilities. Room upgrades such as Beach Pavilions are also available at a supplement.
You'll never tire of the sight of that perfect white sandy beach, or the deep blue sea; La Pirogue really does enjoy a perfect secluded spot on the West coast of Mauritius.
Designed with a fishing village in mind, La Pirogue's collection of cone-shaped thatched roofs neighbour a stunning infinity pool and sandy white beach. Gourmets will be impressed by the culinary delights offered by the range of restaurants whilst sports enthusiasts will be kept busy with the numerous activities on offer.
This was our first time staying at La Pirogue, and we had a really great time!🥳
From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and always smiling. Everyone was so helpful and attentive, and they were always happy to assist us and give us advice to make our stay enjoyable 😊
The food was really good! 😊
A special thank you to Amrish, Sachin and Vyas for their excellent service and for making us feel so well taken care of. Also, thank you to all the other staff who served us at the different restaurants and for the great service we received throughout our stay.
We also had a lot of fun playing mini golf and badminton. The whole atmosphere at the resort was so peaceful and relaxing. And of course, we really enjoyed the beautiful beach! 🏖️
Overall, we had a lovely family stay and we look forward to come back! 😊🎉
A fantastic holiday resort with extremely friendly staff. Ravin, Sabrina and Tarun at the Wolmar Restaurant, in particular, made our holiday something special. Their service was extremely attentive and they made sure our daughter had a wonderful day on her birthday. People like that are priceless.
As a repeat guest over many years,I have seen many changes and made friends with moet of the staff.Unforetunately most of them have retired, and new staff have replaced them. Now many of them are from India and they seem to have a communication problem.they are not bilingual .
LPH has always been very close to my heart . What makes it special are the people who spare no effort to make our stay memorable . The lush coconut grove garden, the space and the most beautiful beach in the world give this resort a unique atmosphere . All the natural beauty would not be worth much without the human touch . I really appreciate the warmth of the staff who never hesitate to go the extra mile to please the guests. The rooms are very comfortable and big enough not to feel claustrophobic , especially for a long stay . Significant improvement in the quality of food especially the dessert . Great family resort and very safe . You don't have time to get bored as each guest has a wide variety of land and water activities to choose from . Or you can just relax doing nothing . Mauritians are gifted with a sense of genuine hospitality and smile which the LPH staff has got it in abundance .
"From my arrival to the end of my stay, the staff made me feel truly welcome. Deepak, Phillys, Jeewan, Clara, Limby, Aarti, and Kelly were all caring, kind, and professional. A special mention goes to Aarti and Kelly, whose warmth and dedication stood out and made my husband’s birthday stay deeply appreciated. Even though it was just one day, you all created Happenture moments I’ll remember with gratitude. Thank you to the whole team."
