Tamarina Golf and Spa Boutique Hotel

We recently stayed at Tamarina Hotel for a very special family occasion — my mother’s 60th birthday — and while there were some truly memorable highlights, there were also several areas where we felt the experience could be improved.

First and foremost, I would like to sincerely recognise Jenice, Aryan and Shane, who really stood out during our stay.

Jenice and Aryan were absolutely outstanding during my mother’s birthday celebration. Their support and willingness to assist throughout the day made such a difference to us. Jenice, in particular, was present and supporting us from around 7:00 a.m. until the evening, and her dedication did not go unnoticed. Aryan was equally helpful and together they helped make an important family milestone feel special.

Shane was also consistently helpful throughout our stay. Whenever we had a request, he was ready to assist and genuinely tried his best to find a solution. A special thank you to all three of them for their hard work, kindness and professionalism.

Unfortunately, our arrival experience was less positive. When we arrived, there appeared to be only one lady at reception handling everything by herself — checking us in, providing the necessary information, removing luggage from the cars and carrying the bags. There did not appear to be any concierge or luggage assistance available. We actually felt uncomfortable seeing her trying to manage everything alone and eventually started unloading some of the luggage ourselves to help her. For a hotel stay, particularly when arriving with several guests and rooms, we would have expected a little more support and organisation at check-in.

We also felt that the rooms, although aesthetically beautiful, lacked both cleanliness and practicality in certain areas. The air-conditioning in our room did not work particularly well, the bed linen was dusty, and the ceiling fan had a noticeable accumulation of dust. The green pillowcases was also visibly dirty. These are details that unfortunately affect the overall comfort and impression of the room.

From a practical perspective, we also found the room layout somewhat inconvenient. For example, there was no easily accessible electrical socket next to a mirror for using a hair straightener or other hair appliances. While the room design is attractive, greater attention to everyday functionality would make the guest experience much more comfortable.

Regarding the food, the buffet did not offer an especially large variety, but what was served was of very good quality, and we thoroughly appreciated that.

Another area that could be improved is the consistency of staff interaction. While we had some excellent encounters during our stay, we felt that some staff were not particularly pleasant/polite (A waitress with grey contact at the restaurant), and unfortunately the experience upon departure was also not as warm or pleasant as we would have expected. The beginning and end of a stay leave a lasting impression, so a more consistent level of hospitality throughout would make a significant difference.

Overall, Tamarina is a beautiful property with a lot of potential, and our experience was made considerably better by the exceptional service provided by Jenice, Aryan and Shane. Their commitment, warmth and willingness to help truly deserve recognition.

We hope this feedback is received constructively, as there is a great deal to appreciate about the hotel, but some improvements in cleanliness, room practicality, staffing support and consistency of service would significantly elevate the overall guest experience.
