Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, member of "Leading Hotels of the World", is an exclusive haven of luxury spread over 27 scenic acres with 750m of pristine beach. The 65 villas with private pool, refurbished in 2016, feature Hermès wallpaper and amenities, a tranquil living and dining area, with the benefiy of butler service to ensure that every guest need is met.
They were inspired by colonial residences of the sugar cane owners. The main infinity pool overlooks the serene, turquoise waters of Tamarin Bay at Wolmar and brings that sense of intimacy that Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa inspires to its guests. A range of watersports facilities are also available at the boathouse.

Absolutely faultless!
Such a beautiful hotel set on a stunning stretch of beach in meticulously maintained grounds. As soon as we stepped out of the car on our 1st day, the sense of calmness and tranquility was overwhelming
Our villa was stunning, exceptionally clean and well maintained, located a few steps from the beach
The restaurants and quality of food were definitely 5 star. We stayed on a half board basis but in no way felt bored by what was offered and it was a struggle to choose where and what to eat daily, but what makes the Maradiva such a magical place to stay is the Team.
Special thanks to Ornella for arranging our wedding so seemlessly all by email. And to both Ornella, Bertrand and Aki for making our wedding day even more memorable. So many deserve a mention - Virkam, Manish, Olivier, Akeel, Sharon, Krish, Veen, Dr Parveen - apologies for missing anyone but nothing was too much trouble for anyone from the gardeners to the Heads of Departments ... absolutely everyone we met throught our stay was happy, friendly, so helpful and always had the time of day for a chat and a catch up
We found the Maradiva by accident having been let down by another hotel and the only disappointment was the day we had to leave but we are returning in September 2026 and cannot wait!
An Unforgettable Honeymoon Experience
We had the pleasure of spending our honeymoon at this beautiful resort from late April to early May, and we look back on our stay with immense gratitude and wonderful memories.
Before sharing our feedback, we would like to mention that the weather during this time of year was slightly cooler than we had expected. Swimming was still enjoyable, however, we learned that the warmer summer season typically begins between November and February. This is, of course, not a reflection of the resort itself, but simply helpful information for future guests.
Our Villa, Privacy and Pure Relaxation
Our villa was an absolute 10 out of 10 and truly perfect for a honeymoon.
For anyone seeking peace, privacy and relaxation, this is the ideal choice. The private pool, the beautiful room and the overall atmosphere made our stay incredibly special.
The villa was always spotless, exceptionally clean and maintained to the highest standards. We were especially impressed by the wonderful fragrance throughout the villa, which created a fresh, welcoming and luxurious atmosphere.
Outstanding Housekeeping Service
We have stayed in many hotels, including several five star properties, but we have never experienced such exceptional service.
Our villa was serviced twice a day. Housekeeping cleaned the room during the morning or afternoon, and every evening everything was beautifully prepared once again. Returning to our perfectly arranged villa after dinner became one of the highlights of each day.
The staff regularly checked whether we needed additional water or if everything was to our satisfaction. This level of attentiveness truly impressed us.
Exceptional Dining Experience
The food was outstanding throughout our entire stay.
One of the highlights was the opportunity to choose from different restaurants each day, which made every dinner a unique experience.
Breakfast was excellent, and dinner was even more impressive. Every restaurant offered exceptional quality, a great variety of dishes and incredibly delicious food. The culinary experience was far above our expectations.
We especially loved the breakfast concept. In addition to a small open buffet, guests can order freshly prepared dishes from an à la carte menu, which are served warm at the table. There was an incredible variety of egg dishes, as well as delicious pancakes and waffles. Every morning felt like a special experience, and we were truly impressed by both the quality and the service.
Dinner was equally outstanding. The opportunity to choose from carefully curated menus made every evening memorable.
We were also delighted by the thoughtful touches throughout the day. Every afternoon, desserts were delivered to our villa, and while relaxing at the beach, fresh fruit, snacks and small treats were regularly offered. These details made our stay even more special.
A Team Like No Other
We have never encountered such warm, friendly and professional staff.
Every single team member greeted us with a smile each day and genuinely cared about our well being, always asking whether everything was satisfactory or if we needed any assistance.
It was evident that guest satisfaction is the resort’s highest priority. Despite the hard work and dedication required, every member of the team consistently demonstrated kindness, professionalism and genuine hospitality.
The impeccable appearance and professionalism of all staff members also deserve special recognition.
We would particularly like to thank Prateek, Manish, Ronesh, Kay and Sun. Although every team member was exceptional, these individuals stood out because of their outstanding friendliness and the memorable interactions we shared with them.
An Unforgettable Private Beach Dinner
As part of our honeymoon package, we were treated to a private dinner on the beach, which we had been looking forward to from the very beginning.
The entire experience was simply magical. The romantic atmosphere, the breathtaking setting and the special moments we shared together will remain unforgettable.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Favour, who took care of us during this special evening.
Her warmth, professionalism and exceptional service made an already beautiful experience even more memorable. We have rarely experienced such outstanding hospitality. Favour truly enhanced our evening with her positive attitude and dedication, and she deserves the highest recognition. Thank you very very much!!!! 🩷
A Beach That Feels Like Paradise
The beach was absolutely stunning and felt like paradise.
The breathtaking scenery, the crystal clear water and the peaceful atmosphere created the perfect setting for a truly unforgettable honeymoon.
Suggestions for Further Enhancement
The following points are not intended as criticism, but rather as friendly suggestions that could further improve the guest experience.
There were several aspects of the resort that we only discovered later during our stay, including: • the possibility of using the spa facilities without a prior reservation • the meaning of the red and yellow flags at the beach • which activities and water sports were already included in our package • the option to have the private pool heated • restaurant reservation procedures and dining schedules • the dress code for the restaurants • the detailed process for breakfast and dinner
At first, the breakfast and dinner concepts were not entirely clear to us. We only learned later that breakfast includes both a buffet and an à la carte menu, from which guests can order freshly prepared dishes at no additional cost.
Similarly, we were initially unaware that dinner was included in our package and that guests could choose from a menu at the restaurants.
Although many of these details are explained upon arrival, it is understandable that some information may be overlooked due to the excitement and the amount of information provided during check in.
For this reason, we would highly recommend providing guests with a simple information guide or checklist in their villa upon arrival.
This guide could include information such as: • services and amenities included in the package • restaurant information and reservation procedures • an explanation of the breakfast and dinner concepts • dress code guidelines • spa information • activities and excursion options • water sports opportunities • villa features and available services
This would help guests fully enjoy everything the resort has to offer from the very beginning of their stay.
Final Thoughts
This resort made our honeymoon an unforgettable experience.
The beautiful villa, the exceptional dining experiences, the paradise like beach and, above all, the incredible staff exceeded all of our expectations.
We wholeheartedly recommend this resort and would gladly return in the future.

A little bit of Paradise in Mauritius
A truly wonderful week at the Maradiva! The Maradiva is set in a lush private serene and tranquil gardens leading down to a wonderful sandy beach that although public (as all beaches in Mauritius are) feels exclusive and private. It one of the few stays where we felt truly relaxed while also using it as a base to explore the wonderful scenery and culture of Mauritius. The Maradiva is immaculate with wonderful luxury spa and sports facilities. Whether is it a suana and massage, tennis, gym or water-sports, the Maradiva provides it all. Our two bedroom beach villa (301) was immaculate with a marvelous pool and terrace that was perfect situated to catch the sun throughout the day but with shade when required.
And from a food perspective, the Maradiva leaves you spoilt for choice. Casual dining at the Beach Grill, Japanese Fusion at Haiku, Indian at Cilantro, a mix of formal and informal dishes at Cassine or a sneaky burger during the day at the Lantara bar means you will always find something to enjoy. Everything is prepared and presented impeccably. And each morning you get to have wonderful breakfast at Cassine. Plus I cannot forget the cakes in the Villa each afternoon just in time for tea and cocktials at the bar as the sun set. Things to try out - Haiku Teppan, live cooking, such a great experience. Beach Grill - grilled pineapple with chili and tamarind plus the best Cheesy Fries anywhere on the planet. Cilantro - Vegetable and Paneer Biryani was one of my favourites. And at Cassine, try the Pizzette and the Ravioli. Mocktails - Shikanji was my go to mocktail!
We were so well looked after by the whole Maradiva team, from the moment of arrival to our departure. Marianne and Aki were always there on Whatsapp to make arrangements for us. Nothing was too much trouble whether it was restaurant booking, supplies for our boat trip or checking when we had booked spa treatments. The standards of service and cleanliness throughout the hotel are second to none. In our case, Babita and her housekeeping team cleaned our villa with military precision. Praveen and his team at the spa looked after us so well with so much knowledgeable advice on best treatments. Plus also a shout out to Laila who took me and my daughter through our introduction to Yoga which we will be continuing. And thanks to Sherezad at the Gym for always finding us a tennis court. And special thanks to Indar, especially his successful evening mission to locate our missing AirPods case from the beach.
So all in all we are really sad to leave today but I am sure we will be returning again as we have lots more to explore in Mauritius and the Maradiva will make it all the more special.

Not a 5* experience
Good things first: Rooms are spacious and nice. Decently maintained (some niggles like a loose toilet seat but nothing major) and it was overall clean. Strip of beach is nice and long. Now the less good things: Service (inconsistent and slow - people are very friendly but not the level of service you expect from 5*). Service in restaurants is very slow and we waited on some drinks until after breakfast was finished for example. Overall waiting times are long. There are queues at breakfast to get a table sometimes. Someone advertised themselves as our butler but only saw him at breakfast (as his main job is in the restaurant I guess) and never heard from him again. Advertising a butler service is incorrect from what I can tell. Food is a major let down. Quality of food and service. Illustrating this with what is advertised as an hotel specialty (a porridge which tasted like an instant porridge package with nothing on the side). Breakfast is 3-4*. Had better breakfasts in B&Bs in Europe. Ended up going to the same restaurant in the end (where food was more palatable) which became a very boring affair after a couple of days. Overall it had the atmosphere of a 4* hotel in the Canary Islands. Honestly regret having dismissed the East coast hotels (as we were advised the weather over the summer would be much better on the West coast). Would definitely not do it again and if you are after a 5* experience… this is not it.
