From the moment I arrived at the Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa, I felt as though I had stepped into a tropical paradise. The breathtaking scenery, lush surroundings, crystal-clear waters, and impeccably maintained grounds created an atmosphere that was both luxurious and wonderfully peaceful.

Although the resort itself is stunning, what truly elevated my experience was the exceptional hospitality and genuine warmth of the staff. Every person I encountered was welcoming, attentive, professional, and sincerely committed to making my stay memorable. I never felt like just another guest; I felt genuinely valued, cared for, and welcomed as part of the Mauritian family.

From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was extraordinary. We were greeted by the beautiful sound of a welcoming gong and offered fresh, cool towelettes—a particularly thoughtful touch after our long journey.

Timathieu warmly welcomed us and checked us in with kindness and professionalism. We were then escorted to our beautiful suite, which featured a balcony overlooking the gorgeous courtyard and beach. Waking up to that view each morning was truly magical.

🌴 Breakfast in Paradise

Each morning began with an extravagant breakfast buffet, where Andria and Jannick greeted us with genuine warmth and friendly smiles. Their hospitality made the start of every day even more special.

The breakfast was an incredible celebration of both familiar favorites and Mauritian cuisine. American-style selections included eggs, chicken sausage, hash browns, and made-to-order omelets, while authentic Mauritian offerings included chicken chow mein, vegetable fried rice, roti, potato curry, eggplant curry, poha, coriander chutney, and coconut chutney.

There was also an impressive selection of fresh salads, cheeses, meats, pastries, and decadent desserts. It was impossible not to look forward to breakfast each morning.

🍽️ Exceptional Dining

The resort’s main restaurant, Pomme d’Amour, offered a different buffet experience each evening, providing an impressive variety of flavors and cuisines throughout our stay.

One of the highlights of our vacation was dining at Coquillages Restaurant & Bar, beautifully situated directly on the beach. We enjoyed a spectacular four-course lobster dinner while watching an unforgettable Mauritian sunset.

Our server, Joshua, was exceptional. His kindness, attentiveness, and remarkable attention to detail made an already beautiful evening truly memorable.

🔥 The Lighting of the Torches

One of the most moving traditions at the resort was the evening lighting of the torches at 6:30 p.m.

As the staff played a beautiful traditional song, they lit the torches with their hands placed over their hearts. It was a simple, elegant, and deeply touching ceremony that reflected the spirit and culture of Mauritius.

It became one of those special moments I will carry with me long after leaving the island.

🌊 The Beauty of Mauritius

The resort’s location on Flic en Flac Beach was absolutely stunning. The water was beautiful, and one of the greatest pleasures was being able to snorkel directly from the resort’s beach.

We also spent three days touring the island, exploring the West, Southwest, and North. Each region revealed another breathtaking side of Mauritius.

On our fourth day, we went whale and dolphin watching. Seeing these magnificent animals in their natural surroundings was an unforgettable experience.

We also spent a few hours exploring the local street-vendor market in Port Louis, which gave us another wonderful opportunity to experience the culture, people, and vibrant character of Mauritius.

💆🏽‍♀️ A Little Extra Pampering

After several days of enjoying the beautiful salt air, my hair had become a little dry, so I treated myself to a nourishing hair treatment at the resort’s spa.

Joelle worked an absolute miracle. My hair was soft, shiny, and beautifully restored afterward. Her care and expertise were yet another example of the exceptional service found throughout the resort.

❤️ More Than a Vacation

This vacation was, without question, my favorite vacation I have ever taken.

I fell completely in love with Mauritius—the beauty of the island, its culture, its people, its food, and its extraordinary sense of hospitality. By the time we left, I was not simply thinking about returning to the resort; I was already looking forward to returning to Mauritius itself.

There is a beautiful saying in Mauritius:

“One Island, Many Peoples, All Mauritians.”

I believe that spirit is reflected throughout the Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa. The resort combines five-star luxury with the authentic warmth and beauty of Mauritius in a way that feels effortless.

Every space is designed to provide comfort while allowing guests to fully appreciate the spectacular tropical surroundings. Whether relaxing beside the water, enjoying the resort’s amenities, dining under the stars, watching the sunset, or simply taking in the scenery, there is a wonderful sense of tranquility everywhere.

Most importantly, the people make the experience.

To Timathieu, Andria, Jannick, Joshua, and Joelle, as well as every staff member whose name I may not have had the opportunity to learn, thank you for making us feel so welcomed, appreciated, and cared for.

You truly cannot go wrong with this five-star resort if you want to feel pampered, appreciated, and loved.

This was more than a vacation—it was an experience that touched my heart and created memories I will treasure for years to come.

It is absolutely beautiful. It is wonderfully relaxing. It is truly luxurious. And most importantly, it feels like home.

We spent 10 nights on points at this incredible hotel, located right on Flic en Flac Beach.

We checked in at 14:00 after booking a regular room. As Diamond members, we were upgraded to Family Suite 2073, which was later changed to Family Suite 3062 due to technical issues with our original suite.

Our suite was wonderful, with a large living room featuring a dining table with four chairs, two sofas, two coffee tables, an extra bed, a minibar, a main table, a large TV and a fan. There was also a small bathroom with a toilet with a hose and a sink.

The bedroom was separated from the living room by a rather old-fashioned folding door. It featured a king-size bed, a desk and chair, a large TV, a sofa and a fan.

Both rooms had doors leading to a large balcony overlooking the gardens and pool. The balcony featured a table with four chairs, two coffee tables and two additional chairs.

There was also a large walk-in closet with a safe.

The bathroom was spacious and featured a bathtub, a sink, a shower with excellent water pressure, a toilet with a hose and the standard large Crabtree & Evelyn dispensers.

The suite was completely light-proof, which was really great for getting a good night's sleep.

The hotel features two pools: a quiet, adults-only infinity pool and a larger general pool for everyone. Both pools were heated to a wonderful temperature.

While the beach was amazingly beautiful, the sea temperature was already a little too cold for a dip.

Our Diamond benefits included a drink and two canapés per person each evening at the Sunset Bar. The canapés were absolutely amazing - on one of the evenings, they were so substantial that they filled us up enough for us to skip dinner!

We had our breakfasts at La Pomme d'Amour, which were outstanding.

We also had seven of our dinners at the changing buffet, all of which were phenomenal. Definitely go for Half Board! I've written a separate review about it.

We had dinners at Ginger Thai and Coquillages, which were both very nice. I've written separate reviews about them, too.

We also enjoyed daily afternoon drinks at Coquillages and the Hibiscus Pool Bar.

There was also a lovely management cocktail during one of the evenings. It took place at the Sunset Bar and featured live music, drinks and canapés. It was lovely to chat with the management and meet the head chef as well.

What really sets this hotel apart from others is the team.

We were ALWAYS met with smiles and a genuine willingness to assist - whether it was with the pool towels, at the restaurants, with housekeeping, or anywhere else around the hotel.

A big shout-out to the hotel's GM, Ms. Eva Muscheid, who was absolutely fantastic and incredibly generous with us. Thank you!

Bottom line - this is an incredible Hilton in Mauritius, offering everything you need for a great vacation. We cannot wait to return - and hopefully, we will!
