The design is stunning, the atmosphere is effortlessly elegant, and the entire property feels refined, contemporary and beautifully maintained.
What makes LUX* Grand Baie truly special, however, is the people.
The service throughout our stay was outstanding. Every member of the team we encountered was warm, attentive, professional and genuinely kind. Nothing ever felt forced or overly formal. Instead, there is a wonderful sense of natural hospitality — the kind that makes you feel not only welcomed, but genuinely cared for.
Our room was beautiful, extremely comfortable and impeccably maintained, and the facilities throughout the hotel are exceptional. The pool areas, restaurants and common spaces all reflect the same attention to quality and detail.
We were travelling as a family, and this was another area where the hotel impressed us greatly. Everything is designed in such a way that both parents and children can enjoy the experience fully, without compromising the sense of calm, elegance and exclusivity that defines the property.
There are luxury hotels that impress because of their design, and others because of their service. LUX* Grand Baie manages to achieve both — while adding something much more difficult to create: genuine warmth and soul.

Lux Grand Baie was one of the best properties I have ever stayed at, as someone who truly values luxury while on vacation. Every part of this property is very well thought out, and everyone working here is extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient at their job. There was not a single moment of worry about anything, as Vimal, our butler, took care of issues before we finished our sentences. His assistance, positive attitude, and enthusiasm truly made for a relaxing environment for our vacation. Would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone coming to Mauritius.
Our experience of Lux’s namesake luxury began before we even flew into Mauritius. I had expressed two requests via email before our stay: an early check-in as we landed at 8:30 am after a long overnight journey, and that the next day was my Dad’s 60th birthday, which we wanted to make special.
The response was very prompt, and we were informed that they would make our villa available as early as possible for us, and that our Dad’s birthday would definitely be special.
After an exhausting journey, we never had to even worry about standing at a reception desk. Every single thing we wanted was taken care of for us by Vimal, the butler for our stay. From major requests to minor inconveniences, Vimal took care of everything at a moment’s notice and made every effort to make this trip unforgettable.
The restaurants are excellent, the views are exquisite, the beaches are pristine, the area is bustling, the staff is professional and helpful, and the property itself exudes luxury in every way. It was a great decision to celebrate here, as Vimal not only decorated the villa but also had a cake and a bottle of champagne for Dad to celebrate with. Overall an excellent way to spend your vacation and has set the standards of luxury really high.
We would like to give a very special compliment to ELIA, the bartender at LUX* Grand Baie. He is extremely friendly, patient, attentive, and truly talented.
His cocktails are absolutely outstanding – by far some of the best we had during our stay. What impressed us most was how carefully he listened to our preferences and adapted every drink to our taste. He really takes the time to understand what the guest wants, and you can immediately tell that he is passionate about his work.
Even with special requests, Elia remains professional, warm, and patient at all times. This level of service makes a real difference and turns a good hotel experience into an exceptional one.
We were extremely satisfied with his service and would especially like to thank him for making our time at the bar so enjoyable. Elia is truly an asset to LUX* Grand Baie, and the hotel can be very proud to have such a dedicated and talented team member.
