The island's capital, Port-Louis, a bustling centre of business and entertainment, is only 15 kms from the hotel. It is located 55 kms from Sir Seewoosagur International Airport of Mauritius and only 15 kms from the island's hub, Grand Baie, known for its shopping, restaurants, bars, and nightlife. This hotel stands at the edge of 1,000 metres of sparkling ivory sands on the north-west coast of Mauritius, in the bay of Pointe Aux Piments of the Indian Ocean. Lush gardens create the perfect atmosphere for a romantic getaway. The hotel's 265 spacious deluxe rooms located in the main building offer views over the tropical garden, which leads to the beach and the Indian Ocean. Beyond simple relaxation afforded by the sand and sea, the hotel offers several games, different sport activities and excursions that range from glass-bottom boat tours to snorkelling and scuba diving.
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments and facials. After dipping into one of the 2 outdoor swimming pools, you can spend some time at the private beach. Additional features at this resort include complimentary wireless Internet access, concierge services and babysitting (surcharge).
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We have had a wonderful 10-day stay at Le Méridien Île Maurice, and it has been such a memorable experience from start to finish.
The Guest Relations team have been excellent throughout our stay. Nothing has ever felt like too much to ask, and they have been incredibly conscientious in checking that everything has been okay and that we have had everything we needed. We specifically requested a quiet room, and that is exactly what we were given, which we really appreciated.
The hotel itself is beautiful. Our room was very spacious, which a beautiful balcony and sea view. The pools are stunning, with ‘call for service’ buttons on your parasols, meaning you don’t even have to walk the short distance to the bar if you don’t want to! There are plenty of sun loungers for everyone, we never ever had a problem finding them. The cabana beds are also a lovely alternative and plenty available to enjoy.
The grounds are immaculately maintained by the lovely team. The flora and fauna are stunning, so make sure you take the time to have a proper walk around the grounds and stop to appreciate them. One of our favourite discoveries was the amazing Village Weaver bird nests swinging in the trees. Standing and watching these little architects carefully building their nests was such a special experience.
And the food… outstanding. By far the best food we have experienced at a hotel, and we have been lucky enough to stay in many 5-star hotels around the world. The selection, quality and variety have been incredible. Lunch and dinner at both Jade and Waves were particularly memorable for us. 10/10.
Most importantly, we want to give a special mention to a few members of the team who made our stay extra special: Adarsh, Guest Relations Manager; Nilini, Restaurant Manager; Stephen Niakin, Chef de Cuisine; Dinesh, our barman and mocktail master at Latitude 20; Emi and Asharna at Nomad; Devraj at Nirvana; and Rambo the Beach Hawker.
Every single member of staff we have encountered has been incredible, but these wonderful people deserve a special mention for the care, warmth and personal touches they brought to our holiday. Their service and genuine friendliness created some special memories of the trip, and we are incredibly grateful to each of them.
Overall, we have loved our time at Le Méridien Île Maurice. The combination of beautiful surroundings, exceptional food, wonderful staff and the little moments that make a holiday memorable has made this a very special stay.
Thank you to everyone who has looked after us during our time here. We will leave with some very happy memories. We would absolutely recommend Le Méridien Île Maurice to others and, without hesitation, would love to return in the future.
We stayed at Le Méridien Ile Maurice during the second week of September for our honeymoon and had a truly wonderful experience.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with exceptional kindness and genuine care. The level of service really impressed us: there is always someone available to help, waiting times are incredibly short, and every request is handled with great attention.
What made the difference were the little details. When we asked for help with the air conditioning, the staff personally came back later to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. We also mentioned that we would love a particular gin, and the following evening we found it waiting for us at the bar. They were also extremely flexible in allowing us to upgrade to All Inclusive only on the days we were staying at the resort rather than going on excursions.
The food was excellent, with a great choice between Mediterranean, Indian and seafood restaurants, as well as a very well-curated buffet with a different theme every evening.
A special mention to the bartender at the lobby bar for his friendliness, kindness and great sense of humour!
Beautiful resort, excellent food, but above all an amazing team who made our honeymoon even more special. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of us!
Best place in Mauritius for family stay .
It was a awesome and wonderful experience at Mauritius 🇲🇺 this is a huge and neat and clean property. All staff are very good, humble and cooperative but specially thanks to Ms Jaya, Ms Nisha, ( front office)Mr Rajesh chef and Ms Leela (housekeeping) they made my vacation wonderful i will suggest the le meridian Mauritius to everyone this is such beautiful property location at beach rooms are very beautiful and clean view and services are too good So I will definitely come again to take your services again in future 😀
The experience was great until checkout. Le Meridien put a $400+ hold on my account at check in. At check out Le Meridien staff gave me a story that there was a problem with the payment system and I had to settle the bill on check out. I was told the hold on my account would be released in full after 5 days. I settled the account in full. It is almost a month after my holiday. Le Meridien has still not released the hold on my funds from check in. Absolutely pathetic service and what a horrible end to a beautiful holiday.
