This lovely boutique hotel is located in East Coast and boasts a beautiful beach location. When designer Camille Walala saw our bright blue skies, pink sunsets, green sugarcane fields, and the explosion of diverse paint colours used to decorate the houses in our village, it was love at first sight. And with local makers creating the furniture, art, and finer details, the Mauritian influence comes through loud and clear. It makes our boutique hotel completely unique.
The hotel offers a range of activities for guests to enjoy throughout their stay. Guests can soak up the tropical weather whilst taking advantage of the outdoor swimming pool and sun loungers, or even enjoy a range of water sports and on-site activities like horse riding, or why not take part in a traditional cooking class, this way you can enjoy the amazing cuisine at home!
The hotel features an on-site restaurant, a bakery and 3 bars - including a rooftop, beach, and pool bar. The restaurant uses woks, tandoor ovens and wood smoking for a range of its meals, giving its guests a more authentic feel.

Great stuff, clean rooms and bathrooms, but most of all the food is spectacular. I got engaged here and we had a special dinner beach kiosk , and it was amazing. Thank you to the managers and all the stuff there. Believe me you wouldn’t want to miss this place. Special mention to Chef Shiva , Sharvish and Dheeraj ….
I stayed at the SALT OF PALMAR hotel from August 3rd to 10th. I was bitten on the cheek by a mosquito, and the area became severely inflamed. A doctor—Dr. Hujjaree—was called in. He handled the situation very professionally: he administered an injection and prescribed medication, which he also provided. My insurance company covered the costs. A huge thank you to the doctor; even after I left, he checked on my health several times.
Celebrating my wife’s birthday at SALT of Palmar was the perfect reason for another two-night escape to a place that has truly become our second home.
There is something special about returning to a hotel where you are welcomed with such genuine warmth. From the moment we arrived, the team made sure my wife’s birthday celebration felt personal and memorable. It is this attention to the smallest details, together with the warmth of the people, that keeps bringing us back.
Food was undoubtedly one of the highlights of this stay. A very special mention to Chef Shiva and Chef Visham for the wonderfully planned seafood menus. Everything was beautifully prepared, fresh and full of flavour, with real thought and care behind each dish.
Chef Ravi deserves a very special mention for an experience of his own at the outstanding Tek Tek restaurant. His uniquely delicious, carefully crafted menu turned dinner into a live culinary experience, where the preparation, presentation, aromas and flavours all became part of the occasion. It was not simply a meal, but an experience to watch, enjoy and remember. Tek Tek is truly something special, and Chef Ravi made the evening exceptional.
A big compliment also goes to the pastry chef for the absolutely delicious birthday cake. Beautifully presented and equally impressive in taste, it provided the perfect finishing touch to my wife’s celebration.
Our spa experience was another highlight. Jibraan and Sharona were awesome. Their professionalism, care and technique made the treatments incredibly relaxing and added another special dimension to our two-night getaway.
We would also like to sincerely thank Vikesh, Rewa, Fayaaz, Sharvin, Rajeev, Simran, Niketa, Vignesh, Bhool , Rohit and each anx every personnel that I missed. Each of you, in your own way, contributed to the warmth and quality of our stay. These individual interactions are what transform excellent hospitality into something genuinely memorable.
And finally, a huge thank you to Rishi, Vish, Chef Shiva and, last but certainly not least, Raj, the GM. Your personal attention, kindness and constant effort to ensure that every detail was taken care of made us feel completely at home.
That is ultimately what SALT of Palmar has become for us: our home away from home, our second home. We arrive as guests, but somehow never feel like guests for very long.
