Long Beach Golf and Spa Resort

Fabulous stay at Long Beach, stunning hotel and location. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Superb beachfront suite with the most amazing view (512) Food and entertainment very high standard. All in all a high quality resort, with great facilities on a stunning beach.

Special mention to Celine and Geraldine who really looked after us at breakfast, and adding some extra touches to our stay.

We have had a fantastic holiday. After two very long flights, we arrived in Mauritius on 13th August as a party of 4 & 2 (my wife, our two daughters and myself, my mother and father in law). On arrival at the resort we knew we had made the right choice with our booking - the entrance area to the hotel is absolutely stunning. We were warmly welcomed into the hotel and into the reception area to check in. Our flight was early morning, with rooms not ready till 2pm. With the rooms not ready until slightly later we were given access to the facilities on site and told to come back later to get into our rooms. The hotel has direct access on to the beach, a large mixed use outdoor pool, an adults only pool, a sports area with tennis courts, climbing wall, football area, a spa and a number of bars and restaurants on site. When we were able to check in we found out that we had two rooms next to each other in 254 and 255. Prior to arrival we contacted the resort to find out whether we could have rooms near each other - this worked out really well as it meant the kids could easily pop next door to see their grandma and grandad. The rooms were of a good standard, with a large double bed, a sofa converted into a bed and a separate single bed in our room. Bathroom had two sinks, a separate toilet cubicle, bath with shower attachment and a separate shower cubicle. As both rooms were on ground level, we ended up with a small terrace with a sofa, and patio table and chairs. The rooms were positioned at the back of the site - this turned out to be perfect for our needs as although we didn’t necessarily have the best views, they were completely private and a reasonable distance away from any of the entertainment areas should we need an early night. Food and drinks were all of a good standard, buffet can sometimes be a bit hectic but this seemed to be mainly at a weekend. We tried each of the restaurants with the exception of Hasu which sat outside of the all inclusive package, but those we did go to, we were always very well looked after. This seemed to be a general theme of all staff working within the hotel, but there are a few names which we feel we must mention - Sara, Celine, Valerie, Melissa, Jennie, Cynthia, Raj, there was also a male server in Tides restaurant during the day who nothing was ever too much trouble for and another male server who worked Tides bar and Shore bar who greeted us every day with a handshake, a smile, and a beer…I sincerely apologise but I never picked up their names. Special thanks to those who made our daughter’s 6th birthday such a special occasion too - she was, and we were, genuinely overwhelmed. All in all, beautiful resort, beautiful island and beautiful people.

One tip for those staying all inclusive, there are a number of activities within the hotel that form part of your package - the glass bottom boat tour is definitely worth giving a go.
