The 4-star Ambre, a Sun Resort Mauritius, located on the east coast of the island at Palmar, is a chic, adults-only hotel with an irresistible beachfront location and exceptional spa, swimming pool and restaurants. The hotel boasts an incredible 750-metre long white sandy beach which runs along a sheltered bay, perfect for swimming, whilst divers can explore the diverse sea life in the adjacent tropical lagoon.
We returned to Ambre after first visiting in 2024. This time was even better. The service provided by all the team was exceptional and everyone is so friendly and happy to help with anything. The food in all the restaurants is amazing and plenty of choice. A special shout out goes to Vishal, Govinden and Sheila for making each day fun and above what we expected

Really a very nice resort, nice beech front, and great free amenities like kayaks , pedlo’s, which in most resorts comes with a hire fee, staff very friendly , food nice, but after 8 nights had had enough of curry style dishes, would of been nice to mix it up with say Salmon, jacket spuds , lasagne , or even baguette’s , but I guess all inclusive is like this, unless you go to a resort with 7 restaurants , with 7 different themes, the bar drinks were good , the speciality Italian restaurant is a nice touch ( make sure you book with the QR code just outside the restaurant doors ) very windy the east side was , I hear west and south are better weather , but 5/3 days were nice , you really must book the 5 island boat your, brilliant , and yes we booked through TUI, and rudy our rep was good on his word , we sailed on the premium fast cat, and man was it fast, great day out , best trip we’ve done in years, the rooms are nice, although the carpenters need a bit of training on how to fit cupboard doors, the inch gap gave us the biggest fright outside of the Amazon jungle, huge hand sized spider waiting for us in the toilet, staff laughed it of , but we were . Wow that’s huge ! Just be aware your in tropical territory , so expect tropical suprises , and by the way the bats are amazing , and huge. But harmless, all in all a great trip, and would visit again for sure .

Special praise goes to the chef Roopesh who prepared the seafood. He is a master of the highest calibre a true king of his craft! Anyone who gets to taste his dishes is incredibly lucky. Every bite reflects his talent, attention to detail, and love for what he does. Bravo, Chef!
And the heart of the hotel is the entertainment team. They bring such warmth, positive energy, and professionalism to everything they do. They always find a solution, offer support, give everyone personal attention, and make you feel genuinely welcome.
It is especially wonderful to see how they bring guests together on the volleyball court: people who were strangers moments before become a team, sharing laughter, celebrating, and cheering each other on.
Through their smiles, enthusiasm, and openness, they introduce guests to the culture and hospitality of Mauritius. Thanks to people like them, the island becomes more than a beautiful place on the map it becomes a warm memory you take home with you.

Thank you to the hotel management for your excellent leadership and for bringing together such a wonderful team. Finding people who love their work this much and know how to bring joy to others is a real achievement.
A few suggestions for improvement: please give the sailing team a little wake-up call. There is always reason not to sail for them…..

please avoid asking guests for their room number every five minutes. A wristband that doubles as a room key, instead of a plastic key card, would be a fantastic upgrade.
